Just a thought.

I live in an area where there are many races.

However in the last 6 months, I have only noticed 1 non white biker?

Perhaps this is just a West Yorkshire thing?

I totally agree mate. Where i live in Bedford there are many different races and religions, more than most other towns in the country. I always thought though that apart from a few black chavs on peds i know, i never see or know anyone of any other race on a bike. I know 8 mates with 125's and they are all white

When I went London a couple of months ago, I saw quite a few black bikers. Smile

Maybe not. (You're not doing yourself any favours with a comment like that !)

But you have to wonder why, don't you ?

I don't have a single racist bone in my body. But I have noticed there seem to be very few black or dark skinned bikers around.

Maybe - just maybe - they feel that they might be intimidated by your average white biker.

Who knows ?

Perhaps some 'black' bikers would like to put their case forward here ?

Im totally interested by it. Are there any black bikers in moto gp?

When i was at school i found most of the black guys i knew were just into cars. One of the main reasons is simply because cars have music, and the chicks tend to like cars more

To stereotype, biking doesn't really say 'urban', does it? It's not about colour, it's about the culture that colour associates with. The majority of black people tend to swing towards urban culture, thus there are less on bikes.

You say that biking doesn't say "urban", and i can agree. But why isn't it regarded as an urban hobby

Non-white people in this country are a minority, the biking community is a minority hence when you put the two together you will get a very very small number of non-white bikers. You will probably only really see some non-white bikers in a highly multi-cultural city/town. That's why in London they are not as rare as JonB has pointed out.

Thats a fair point, but the fact that i must of known at least 10 black guys in school, and none of them showed any interest in bikes is just obviously weird

Call it chance, were there not 20 times more white people? How many of them showed any interest in biking?

Loads of black riders in North and South London.

One of my customers, a black rider was killed the week before last. Car pulled out in front of him. Nice bloke always had a chat when he dropped in.

my mate gaz with the chesterfield who comes to the wheel sometimes, is black

he has some biker mates with big bikes who are black but you wdnt know they are black if you see them with their helmets on.

They have come to the wheel once or twice but the music wasnt really their choice and it did look a bit like everyone was giving them space and not getting too close. Which might have felt a bit like a hostile atmosphere. Or it could have just been my imagination.

People didnt react that way with gaz with some white lads but they did to a group of 5 to 8 black lads.

I have seen a few black guys at the wheel who arent gaz's mates too. There is a guy with a quad who has no helmet so you notice he is black. I just saw him tonight in birmingham and he rides around dudley a fare bit too.

There is another black guy who goes to the wheel who wears motocross armour instead of leather which is probably cooler in the summer than leathers and probably gives qute good protection.

I think id feel a bit wierd turning up to reggae night and being the only white guy there. Its not that everyone doesnt want you there but you know that some people dont. Some people dont mind that but some people would feel more comfortable elsewhere.

I havnt noticed many asian bikers, but there were some asian lads at the wheel on wednesday.

the r1 i had seen for sale localy is owned by an asian bloke but he hasnt used it much since he has had it.

some of the asian or black lads with souped up cars have a respect for big bikes as they know how fast they are compared to their cars.

not in london it isnt. when i started riding in '88 i met one black guy in my first 3 years riding, now its got fashionable, lots of black guys are into it...

then again, you are less likely to be shot in a dalston high road turf war riding your r6 than you are driving your m3......

Black people have denser bone's, kinda why you dont see many black swimmers (Bar Eric Mussambani). The same applies to bike racing.

I've yet to see a black person in the nearest town to me at all, let alone a black biker. Most mining communities never had any black people in them in first place.

WTF ??

Because a black guy could never weight the same as a white guy Shocked

If that was the case bike racing would be full of light weight (white)midgets just to save a few kilos

Here's a mate of mine.......one of 3 black biking mates.

Eric rides a 'Blackbird' ..... hahahaha but his bird is white.. A real nice fella, a true gent if ever there was.
The other 2 mates are Trev who rides a TL1000S and Paul who rides a Moto Guzzi LeMans.

There are also dozens of black scrote dickslaps in my local area riding motoX bikes on the park but thats just kids being kids.
