I won't be there but I'll be interested to see some coverage on TV. I remember last year they had snippets on Eurosport. To be honest I can't believe that it is still legal, it looks like absolute madness tearing along country roads at those speeds!! Great to watch though.

I live in Heysham so for me it's a simple ride to the port and across the sea, but when they talk about charging 250 odd quid for the privilege I'm not overly enthusiastic to be honest.

I would love to go for the sheer experience of the thing, and now they've decided to spend more and focus more on the safety of the racing and marshall training, it's bound to be an awesome affair. But not till next year for me as can't get off work and neither can my mates who we were planning to go with.

ahallicks, will there be somewhere to get petrol in Heysham in the early hours of the morning? I'm on a 2:15am ferry but will need some Jungle Juice in my bike by the time I get there.

Damn. Why not have the TT when I can actually afford to make the trip? Wonder if there's any chance they'd postpone it 'til I can make airfare...

dont get me wrong, as much as i luv it but i dont think the tt is real racing, one man against the clock isnt racing, 20 men fighting for a patch o tarmac no bigger than a fifty pence piece on public roads, now THATS racing. wont stop me from going over though

Would love to go some day.
So they're not actually racing at the same time? It's just one person out against the clock?

Northwest 200, proper road racing, although the TT is special for many other reasons, mainly the length of the races, superbikes do 6 laps of the 37 mile TT course. Over 200 miles, John McGuinness absolute lap record today.

Its just a shame so many people lose there life over there.

I would like to go round in a fast car but i would just go normal on a bike and let the nutters get on with it.

TT is fun went a few years back!

Its a normal road surface NOT some fancy made tarmac road where there are no bumbs, they are all on tract at one point but set off at few second intervals

There are some impressive (fun) corners on the TT and some VERY VERY dangerous ones...
