Not sure if some of the posts I make concerning women pisses any of you off at all so I hope this thread doesn't turn into an argument, but seeing as the majority of you are male, this is the best place to get the opinion from the other half. Wink

In light of this thread, I just wondered what people's attitudes were towards women being the rider and men being pillion.

Obviously in this country, we're a lot more accepting of the issues in king kong's post, so I'm just generally interested in your opinions on the topic I've raised.

Do you think it's right that a man should be pillion to a girl riding? Or would you worry about how drivers/pedestrains perceive you? Is it 'uncool'?

I would be genuinely interested to hear what you have to say as I think some of you would have no problem with it, but others I'm not so sure about. I hope this question doesn't offend any of you. If you think it's stupid then tell me, it's just I don't think I've ever seen this scenario.

Thumbs Up

Thanks.

I see no problems to it, Somthing nice to hold on to.

"Why are you touching my breasts?
" Sorry, I thought I was going to fall off "
" We are at traffic lights.."

I'd go pillion with a girl riding - I'd just reach round and hang onto her boobs Laughing

I think it would be a novelty for a while (echo the breast hand-hold statements Thumbs Up ), but after a time you'd pretty much want your own machine with her on the back.

Don't really care tbh. Not many people can take me pillion as I'm 15 stone and the front wheel ends up in the air and sub frames crack or bend.

To answer your question:

1. There is nothing wrong or right with either riding.
2. No Iwouldn't worry of what others thought. I don't care what others think
3. I think there is nothing uncool about it, actually it would be uber cool if the pink power ranger gave me a lift as pillion Mr. Green

Apart from these there are practical issues:
1. Men are generally more heavier than girls, so the girl may finding handling ruined.
2. The male pillion may decide to fondle the boobs Razz
3. If the male pillion is fondling the breasts and or the female driver is dressed like the pink power ranger in chaps, then the male pillion might develop a hard on which the female driver could find intrusive Razz
4. Upon applying brakes with a male pillon with a hard on the female drive will find the intrusion rather disturbing, even more under emergency braking Razz
5. A safer positon for the male, for instance in an accident the female driver has no bollocks to get crushed on the tank, while the female rear is more softer and I prefer the female bottom to steel tank Razz

Hope it helps, yes if you want a test be my guest Mr. Green

Lol thanks for the offer, though I've already got my b/f to fill that role. I just wondered because we get prolonged bemused looks off pedestrians and other bikers often with a girl on the back these days, or car drivers sitting next to us at the traffic lights.

Thanks for the replies so far, pretty much cleared up what I wanted to know. Thumbs Up

Hi,

Me thinks you spend too much time worrying what others think. Keith rarely is a pillion with anyone, but does ride pillion to me sometimes. However I am not his pillion that often either.

Dont worry do what you like (and car drivers will stare at anything)
Regards
Charlotte

Sorry I would feel unsafe with a woman riding. And its not that I am being sexist im just not a small guy Thumbs Up

I only ever went pillion once on a blokes bike and was promptley removed as I was a back seat rider.

done it a few times back of a Hornet 600 and back of a VN800 too,
I don't like being pillion period ,the loss of control rather than a man woman type thing.

however there was much more room than usual , namely because men due to their anatomy sit far away from the tank (incase they have to stop quickly and don't crush their bollocks) , while women can sit flush with the tank hence = more room.

It wouldn't bother me, and I'd certainly rather be snuggling up to a shapely young lass than some big hairy bugger like Stinkwheel or even myself.

Even when fight fit before the crash, I tipped the scales at almost 16 stone, so I'd echo WN's comments about being concerned about the impact on a bikes stability, especially as most of the women I'd consider taking a lift from are little elfin types who might find it hard to come to terms with the load being 3 times is usual weight.

That's not a sexist point though, it would apply just as much to taking a lift from a 7 stone male too.

I took Phoenix pillion... once.
I nearly dropped my bike, he was too tall and too heavy.

I took M1ke pillion to the chip shop and he pick pocketed me and stole me wallet (then dropped it on the road Laughing )

Personally, I work on a strictly no pillion rule, I'd rather keep my bike handling as it does without a heavy fidgeting lump on the back (ball scratching/rearranging really makes a bike wobble at speed)

Cheeky munchkin!

I refuse to even consider pillions for the time being. I took my first passenger 2 days before my big crash, and it scared the crap out of me to think that something similar could have happened while I was carrying my little brother. It took some soul searching to reconcile me to the idea of risking myself again, I'm not sure I'll be able to risk other people for some time to come.

I take my son as a pillion but he's only 12 (although nearly as big as me now). Taking the OH is out of the question he's too big/tall and his bike would cry Smile

MAybe you ride on a very small bike or an odd looking bike? Maybe people are string at the bike?

Its usual for people to stare at say a 50 cc bike carrying 2 adults Mr. Green

Hope it helps
