Everytime I go to click on something in google, it re-directs me to some travel site or something, and I have to go back and click on it 3 times before it goes to the site I originally wanted. Also, looking at some porn site atm, click on the one of the galleries and it re-directs me to google with the search term "buy valium" or some other rubbish?
Bit of a noob with computers so wtf is this all about?

Spyware. Download Adaware and do a virus scan. There's a free online virus scanner somewhere on the net, just search 'free online virus' on Google.

Yeah I've got "kaspersky"
So where exactly is this spyware coming from? Just random sites?
You see we've just had to buy a complete new xp setup as the old one got fucked over beyond repair, and the computer bloke blamed it on me going on porn sites. So am I in for a bollocking for looking at porn again, or can I argue it could have come from pretty much anything?

Never had anything come into my PC from legit sites. Porn sites and key gen/code sites are renowned for those things as most people who go there don't use proper protection(sorry no pun intended).

A good firewall is as important if not more than the anti-virus program, and it helps to have good scanners like... AdAware, Spybot S&D, A Squared and Spywareblaster and use them every week.

Oh and if your using IE..I would get something a bit more secure like Firefox or Opera. Wink
