I dont even get my knee down on the track, I hang one arse cheek off but dont make any noticable effort to stick my knee out.

Yeah and? Laughing

I can lean a bike further with my knee out and faster so on a track I find that would be usefull for me.
It's up to the rider and the way they ride a bike there is no rule to say that it makes a huge difference or not!

I very rarely get my knee down on the road. When i'm on the track i do hang one arse cheek off and stick me knee out a bit and when it starts to go down i know i'm near the limit of the available lean angle.

I don't hang off anymore on the road just to get my knee down because it feels uncomfortable as i'm so used to my normal riding position. So when i do scrape a slider on the road i tend to think "hmm going a bit too fast, i think i'll back it off a bit"

Save it for the track mate.

Thing is on a round-a-bout you are not going that fast at all to even get your knee down, why do ppl think just cos the knee is down you are going dead fast! the bike is so unlaboured and I'd go faster in a bloody car!
Like I said I use it as a gauge to see how much further I can go but again like I said very rarely on the road!

Cheers paul for the great tips i will have a go over the weekend. As for all the people saying its only for the track going fast or show boating well for me its none of them. Its just something i want to do for my confidence and no the limits of my bike.

Your spot on there mate.

I regularly come home on a friday night over the tops near bolton and everyones favourite knee down roundabout is at the end of that road and I sit there pissing myself at the people circling round and round hanging off like deranged monkey's trying to get their knee down whilst doing 30mph.

I can't get my knee down Embarassed but I think my short legs may be an issue. On a recent Brands trackday, I was going round the outside of much slower riders who were getting theirs down.
And yes, it is big, it is hard and it is clever Thumbs Up

Each to their own mate, but good luck to those that want to want any tips I'd happily give them but best PM as it seems to upset some ppl alking about it.
Anyway it's not about who is better cos they get their knee down we are all out there just to enjoy riding.
