Monday night I received a phone call from my boss to say we have no work on for the next few days so I decided to make the most out of my 3 days off and head down to the coast and join my fellow mates who were staying at a campsite in Croyde, North Devon.

So I grabbed sports bag, cargo net, packed my belongings and headed off that night.

After reading Steve H’s trip to North Devon it inspired me to take the A39 all the way there and what a fantastic road that is! Should have stopped to take pictures but I was having too much fun.

I arrived at the campsite (Cherry Tree Farm) just under 3 hours later. Here are some pics of the site and our spot.

Got a snap over-looking Woolacombe Bay.

Soon enough it was Wednesday evening and time to head off home. All packed up ready to go (notice the quality luggage Wink )

I took the route across Exmoor on the way back and enjoyed it just as much as the twisty A39. The scenery was amazing and again I wish I'd stopped to take a photo but I was enjoying the fast, sweeping bends so much. On my little 400 I could take pretty much every corner in 5th or 6th with the throttle wide open. On the straights I’d glance in my mirrors and could see the sun setting behind the hills which just topped off an excellent few days away from work.

Back to reality now Sad

I stayed at Woolacombe in early May this year, it's a lovely place. The A39 through Exmoor National Park is supposed to be really technical - i.e. sharp turns, steep gradients, etc. Lots of first gear work (in a car) there.

You must of gone to the Thatch for the awesome Nachos!... I live in Torrington about 11 miles from Croyde...... guess you just take the roads for granted!... looks like you got the weather! ..
