Anyone else completed this survey?

https://ionmx.com/apps/redir.aspx?type=2&l=RfF&t=a8a-8-8-48-34fc9&U=http%3a%2f%2fwww.zoomerang.com%2fsurvey.zgi%3fp%3dWEB225JF8ED74V

It's from MCN, supposedly through them from the DSA.

I basically think trying to teach advanced riding through a DVD is a bad idea. I agree that a DVD promoting further training and how to go about it is a good idea and should be given away with a CBT/training course. I also like the idea of basic maintainence, similar to the stuff what's covered on the CBT, such as pre-ride checks and chain adjustment, sort of post CBT notes.

For me the only way to learn is through practical training, on the road with a professional and not through an inexperienced rider left alone to watch a DVD and apply their own interpretation of someone else's words.

I had an email via MCN about this, and due to the stressful conditions of my job felt I must take time out to complete it.

I agree that advanced riding can't be taught by DVD and stressed that in the comments section.
I also said I wouldn't buy it, but might watch it if it came free with a magazine.

From the survey it also seemed they were trying to incorperate a lot of things onto one DVD, including information for learner riders and track riding techniques - two things I certainly don't think should be seen together!
Imagine the scene, little Billy has just completed his CBT, sits down in a diligent fasion to learn some extra tips and flicks to the 'track tips' section. WayHay, next thing we know, Billy's out on his NSR125 trying to counter stear and take racing lines round his local housing estate *flashback to a recent thread on BCF*

A DVD can't do both, it either contains advanced riding skills or those for learners.
