prob is his xbox keeps freezing, we,ve decided its not just the one game, as it often does this before he,s put a disc in it...
any ideas ? can these things just require a cleaning, like a cd player ? and do you use a cd cleaner ?

Your best bet is to phone xbox support.. should be in the back of the manual that came in the box.

They'll probably keep you on hold for about 8 minutes followed by a chap with a heavy pakistani accent.

I've gone through 4.. count 'em 4 360's.. they keep flashing their pretty red lights at me.

don't ask for a refund, i've gone ballistic at them several times because they told me "we don't do refunds" they will take it back, repair it.. and send it to you again.. as you can tell from my story however.. they don't repair them too well..

anyway sorry about the mini-rant there..
sometimes the 360's will freeze if the power supply (power brick rather) gets too hot.. try and keep it so the air can circulate all around it.

Also they freeze if they are stood upright on their end sometimes.

and apparently (a customer support dude told me this but i didn't believe him) it can freeze if the time and date is not correct.

Also try unplugging all the leads.. from the wall and the console and the telly, then remove the harddrive.. then plug it all back together in the reverse order.. sometimes that works.

Make sure the PSU has good air circulation around it.

Either that, or wait for the ring of death.

I'm so lucky, my 360 works perfectly after 8 months of use.

I hope you can get your 360's repaired for free!

I'd be seriously pissed off if an electronic product of mine busted under a year and i'd have to pay to have it repaired.
