I have a NSR 2001 derestricted, When i strat it and move off the bike will not go past 6000rpm and if try to open the trothel more it strats to spluter. I have to shhift the bike up one or two gears and redline it to clear it up and stop it splutering in the lower gears.

is this normal or do i need to get the bike checked out

cheers
Roy

Hi

Sounds like it is just a bike choked up. A new plug might help (1~2000 miles is about all I would expect from a 2 squeak spark plug). However, when cold I would not take it over 6000rpm

If a new plug doesnt help then I would get it checked out

All the best

Keith
