Convinced my girlfriend to hop on the back of my motorbike this weekend for a day excursion. Based south London so just wondering if anyone had any advice on a decent day trip destination + route. Would like to stay off main roads where possible (motorways etc) but otherwise pretty flexible.

Basically would be great to end up at nice town, have some grub + wonder and take it in some nice scenery along the way (or as many parts of that plan as possible!)

Looking for a 1 day trip.

Any advice or places to look up more info gratefully received!

I suppose the classic would be to do a run to Brighton and back. Not saying it's the best, just probably the most obvious.

Anywhere along the south coast should be reachable for a nice day trip. Not sure about the roads though, may be a little bland as Map said.

What about the Cotswolds and the Penines, a little further but more of a bikers journey.

thanks for the ideas, ultimately would like to go somewhere like the Cotswolds- got to get some touring miles under the belt first for her sake! Prob will try a short trip down to Kent somewhere not too far and then further afield

From the very 1st ride on my first bike after passing my DAS I'v had reliability problems, the thought of having problems in the middle of nowhere is'nt funny. Its one thing that I would like to do and have a go at, but maybe on a newer bike as these old girls are'nt that comfy either.
