Heat - Was on T.V, didn't need to read the review because you can always tell anything starring De niro' & Al pacino is going to be a great film, lots of action & great story.

Scary Movie 4 - The first two movie's were very funny as i think they were the first of the piss takes on other films, then the 3rd came out which was ok then the forth which is just boring as it's the same jokes, obvious jokes & just crap, found myself skipping most of the film.

The Decent - Build up to the film is very good as it had me hooked & really intrested, after you see the monsters it all goes down hill because somehow the people fighting for there lives become experts in the field of killing. From the same director who made Dog Soldiers.

Sexy Beast - If you havn't seen it then you should.

Then I read another rip-off book that was even worse Confused (though this doesn't detract from the cack-ness of the original, I should mention).
A particular bit that annoyed me from this other book went something along the lines off...
"He had a Honda 600cc sports motorcycle and a powerful moto-guzzi 1100".
"Jumping onto the Honda he kick started it into life ..."

First off, I doubt a moto-guzzi ever had more power than a Honda sports 600 and I'm not aware Honda did kick start models on it's Sports 600s Rolling Eyes.
At least a little bit of thought on the basics so we have a slight belief in the intentionally fictional please...

Aha!

My flatmate, who passed me the Da Vinci Code in the first place, also passed me the book you are quoting from! 'The Traveller', or something along those lines? Lots of arse about the panopticon and the evil Big Brother state?

I think that Parky assumed the use of bikes would interest me in the cack storyline, despite the fact my sympathies are always going to be with the evil state, not the plucky new-age twats.

Yep, that's the one.
The back of the book mentioned matrix-like and suggested at cyber-punk slant, which was better than any other books Sainsburys had on their shelves.
I regretted my choice.

I found it very similar to the DVC in its shallow, transparent characters and poorly conceived script, most of whom's devices were half-borrowed from other - better written - stories.

V FOR VENDETTA. Saw it last night, and it did not disappoint.

A HISTORY OF VIOLENCE. What a bloody (literally) good film that is. The Americans can make damn fine films when they want to.
Highly recommended.

If no one has seen it yet, the best film I've seen in the last year, has to be DOWNFALL. Hitler's last days. It is subtitled, as it's all spoken in German, but DO NOT let that put you off. I hate subtitles, but the acting is so superb, that after a while, you don't realise you are reading them. 10 out of 10.

FFS some people are so dumb.

What was the LAST film you watched. NOT, What was the last 5 films you watched. Fuck sake.

Last film I watched was on Sky One last night and was called Nine Months, with Hugh Grant and some ginger. Not bad, for a soppy film.

Excellent acting, and a brilliiant story line.

A very sad film, but definitely one to watch. Thumbs Up

I quite liked it. Though I do have a thing for the post-apocolyptic/distopian future genre.

I especially liked the comment that went something along the lines of (forget exactly what but)...
"Oh no, it's the orks... shit, worse, it's Americans!"

(Yes, probably a mis-quote, but haven't seen it for ages.)

FFS some people take issue at things that really don't matter Razz

That said, if my last film was a Hugh Grant romcom, I'd be pretty pissed off at the world too!

Walk the Line.

Bit dissapointed was ok, but found it a bit slow and disjointed at times and to a while to get going, not very engaging. Thought it might have continued on a bit fruther than it did...though it's 3 hours as is!!! Not enouhg songs!

Maybe another couple of views will see me change my mind

Ray was better film.

The Green Mile

Hadn't seen it in ages and fancied it. I think it's one of the better Stephen King "film from a book" conversions. Up there with Shawshank and Stand By Me.

Zatôichi
still haven't seen the last 10 min but a good film....

Spirited away is great anima film and good for any one to watch!

sky blue.. a Koran anima film with some amazing art work

the animatrix that where inspired by the matrix (some great stuff in that collection)

Whats eating gilbert grape. Johnny depp and Leonardo dicaprio. both acting brillantly and one of the films that leonardo is most proud of before as he said he went after the money and lost his way a bit in the film business.

as for some of the other films mentioned.

superman.. was an ok film on its own. but when put up against the original films it starts to look very plain. It just didn't have it for me Sad

Da vinci code.. if you had read the book it was boring and if you hadn't you would have missed most of the good bits of the book as they were left out.. all in all not a good film Sad

Shawshank redemption.. in my view one of the best films ever made. why freeman has never got an oscar is beyond me!! he has been in so many good films and played great parts but never seems to have made it. I hope he gets his reward some day!!

couldn't really put my thumb on what it's about but I'd say messed up two timing relationships. It's got Natalie Portman in it being all slutty and Twisted Evil and it's hard to believe that she was Matilda in Leon.

Anyway I reccommend it as "one to watch with the missus and then go and have naughty sex in the laundry room on top of the dryer at super maximum spin........" Thumbs Up

12 monkey's.

Like the visual's that are instantly recognisable as Gilliam and the overall plot/time travel element to the film. Also like the irony at the end.

Brad Pitt plays a quite convincing mental patient, and Bruce Willis play's a fairly convential Bruce Willis role in the film, action hero type character. Intertwined with the love affair between him and his doctor (forget her name), the time travel and the reason's for it it is noticeable but certainly doesn't stand out.

Some people seem to find it confusing, nothing confusing about the film imo. Watch it if you havent already at some point.

Leon is a great film.

Wonder why everyone loves a film about a hitman f*ckin' a little girl? Odd.
