There were only a very few films that I was not allowed to watch. The ones I can remember were Silence of the Lambs and Basic Instinct (mainly because of the shagging in it). I just waited until parents went out and then put the tape on and watched it anyway. Mr. Green

Other than those I could and did watch anything else even if they were 18 rated. Of course not hardcore pornos though. Laughing

Well, still not 18 now, but I've been treated like i am since about 15 roughly, below that age I could watch any 15 but only 18's that my dad had seen, the reason for this I used to curse like a trooper and films were indeed the reason of course.. (15's are full of swearing??)
We all thought what we saw was the way to go at an early age.

Anything with tits.
As a youngster/early years teenager I'd obviously, routinely scower the tv guide for any potential t&a. I'd then do a strategic study of the potential for the parents going to bed early and myself either
a) creeping downstairs later to watch said potential t&a program without sound or b) staying up late enough with the hope that parents or parent would fall asleep on the couch for me to watch in relative peace with occasional glances to see if the were still asleep.
In all those years I was caught out just once. Once.
Still proud of that to this day.

I remember they'd usually "tut" and switch channels if there was any nudity, or continued bad language.

But as for unsupervised watching, pretty much anything as long as they didn't find out Embarassed Rolling Eyes

I can only remember being stopped from watching one film, and that was Porkies when I was about 12, so fair enough really!

We ban our kids from watching anything over their age + 1 rating.

i.e our 14 and 13 YO are allowed to watch 15's but not 18's and our 10 YO is only allowed to watch 12's, but not 15's.

We do have a parental overule though, so if the wife and I have already seen the film and we deem it o.k for them to watch, they are allowed to watch it with us.

TBH we offered the 14 YO to have a parental approved 18 rated film form our DVD's a few weeks ago, cos he was the only one in the house, but he refused and watched a 15 instead Confused
