Yep, the bandit is getting a new water-cooled engine and injection to modernise them. The litre gets an increase to 1250cc, the 650 is staying the same. Unfortunately they've done nothing to substantially change the 'Grandad' styling (high positioned fairing with tall handlebars) and no engine change is going to improve on the dated steel tube cradle frame. But there is still a market in which they can sell them, so how ever unfashionable it may be the bandit will linger around to fill the old mans tourer/commuter bracket. For as long as they have the parts bin full they will continue to churn them out Wink

As the SV out sells the bandit 3 to 1, just where did you hear that? The SV650 will continue to be around for another year with colour changes for the new K7 bikes, oh and ABS as an option. In 2008 it will undergo a restyling change Wink

I heard that the 650 wont meet new emissions laws so there going to bin it, but carry on making the SV1000 Confused

Ok, i read that somewhere when it was first announced that suzuki had to change the SV or drop it from the range.

Now seems suzuki might be upping the cc to a 700 to comply with the new emission rules....

MCN said that.. nothing they say is true Wink

In actual fact it's the thou that is the one with the emissions problem - the engine is far older originating from the TL. The K7 SV650/s has been press released in Holland. Nothing is official yet until after the Paris show. There is still a rumour over the two spark heads though.

2008 is when it 'may' become 700cc Just in time for me to change Very Happy

Agree with Extreme here, the TL engined bikes of today will soon be binned. The Cagiva Raptor and Sv thou will be no more! Crying or Very sad

The bandit could actually be made to look quite nice. It's just such a shame that suzuki's designers are absolutely blind.

Wed. I played hookie from work and was checking out the US Suzuki web page and the '07 1250 Bandit page was on there. Next day I tried to show it to somebody at work and it had disappeared entirely. It showed 2 colors, black and the blue like shown for the '07 'busa (not the dark navy blue Suzuki uses). Said it had a seat adjustable for 2 heights and had ABS as standard. Retail was like $8300 US, I remember thinking at the time that this put it in Honda 919 territory pricewise.
