Well, i was coming round the corner on the way out of where i live, i was in my crappy little green 106 (yes, a car!)

Some nutter came flying round the corner, completely on the wrong side of the road. I stopped, he gave it too much front brake, went over the handlebars and landed on my bonnet.

He was very apologetic, almost crying because he was so upset (not hurt), i said as long as he was o.k then it didn't matter.

He told me my car was fine about 10 times, picked up his bike and pedalled away.

NO JOKE but it was bloody funny

Nope, just a little bit of rubber from his wheel but it rubbed off. i really didn't mind anyway, it was so funny watching him go over the handlebars, wouldn't have been if he'd hurt himself but, oh well

Brilliant Thumbs Up Laughing

A lot of cyclists are twats. Why do they use dual carriageways, when there is a cyclepath alongside? Bloody gobshites...

I wish i had the riding skill to ride alongside them, and pinch the top of the V brakes. If i had a pillion we could get the front and back at the same time! Very Happy damn that'd be fun...

Agreed. Cyclists (to me) are the most underrepresented road users out there, and possibly the most vulnerable.

There's always talk of how car drivers should do a CBT to make them more aware of what being on a bike means, this argument is just as valid for cyclists.

I had a run-in with a green 106 on Monday morning.

He pulled out of a side street in his farty little 106 right in front of my Land Rover.

Result: 1 ill looking 106 and my LR with a bent front bumper and broken headlamp washer. Wink

I had the pleasure of watching a bike courier in London brake hard to stop himself going into the back of the car in front. Only to have the back wheel up in the air and him to promptly fall off.

Also, I agree with the comments about the cyclist on dual carrigeways. Being at the side of the road, cycle lanes will probably be full of all kinds of shit and are probably more unsafe!

I was a passenger in the back of a van, going up a mountain pass in Cape Town in 1994. There were loads of cars, stop start traffic, and some cyclists riding up the mountain too. One of them was a woman, probably in her late thirties, with the most fantastic bum imaginable, on display in some skimpy tight cycling pants. As we went past her, I leaned out the door, and squeezed the bumcheek nearest me. She got such a fright, she veered left and rode off the side of the road, and proceeded to fly down a hugely steep mountainside at full tilt, still waggin her finger at me!

I sincerely hope she made it to the bottom uninjured..

I don't really like cyclists tbh they dont pay tax, dont need an mot, dont need insurance and still take up most of the road, then you see them hop on the pavement when theres a red light? cheeky bastards.

Because motorised vehicles pay to use the roads and push bikes do not? ,

sure you may have a taxed insured and legal petrol filled bike , but each mile you do on that is taxed and paid for, when you are using a motorised vehicle.

while each mile you do on a push bike is not paid for.

hence bugger all rights, and the fact you have no number plates so criminal damage done can't be traced other than by accelerating hard and doing donuts over their heads.

So, does that mean a truck has a lot more 'rights' than a bike, because it pays more money?

Considering petrol tax can be countered by looking at tax made from selling food.

Note that Road tax does not go directly to resurfacing roads and other road stuff - and if it did, the push bikes would still be paying a very minor amount compared to others.

maybe , but its split into paying for and not paying for £5 on the cost of each push bike would do it, when they are first sold. Rather than a PAYG sort of system which is how it semi works in cars/bikes

I dislike push bikes because I have to travel up 2 large long hills on my way in to work , sometimes they find it ok to skitch a ride from me , if I had longer arms , I'd grab their hands and take them on the motorway.

Push bikes have VAT applied. So any bike costing over £30 new will have at the very least £5 paid into the governments coffers.

If a push bike grabs hold of ya' bike to get a lift and you have a problem with this, then I'm sure there's plenty you can do to discourage them. Such as wheelies/learning to wheelie Smile.

Damm right! Speaking as a truck driver cyclists are a menace, you pass them and when you reach a set of traffic lights they ride up your inside. Any idea how f**k**g stupid this is?? trucks have a blind spot about 2 feet from the front on the near side. Think about that next time you ride down the inside of one.

Rant over Mr. Green

my mum had this one. some guy on a bmx came flying round the corner head on into my mum plodding along. left a fuck off dent in the bonnet. he got up all dazed. realised what he had done then zoomed off. luckily it was only an 1980's metro. If it was me I wouldve caught him and given him a right beating just for riding off Twisted Evil
