I knocked someone off a bike today

Well, i was coming round the corner on the way out of where i live, i was in my crappy little green 106 (yes, a car!)

Some nutter came flying round the corner, completely on the wrong side of the road. I stopped, he gave it too much front brake, went over the handlebars and landed on my bonnet.

He was very apologetic, almost crying because he was so upset (not hurt), i said as long as he was o.k then it didn't matter.

He told me my car was fine about 10 times, picked up his bike and pedalled away.

NO JOKE but it was bloody funny

Nope, just a little bit of rubber from his wheel but it rubbed off. i really didn't mind anyway, it was so funny watching him go over the handlebars, wouldn't have been if he'd hurt himself but, oh well

I had a run-in with a green 106 on Monday morning.

He pulled out of a side street in his farty little 106 right in front of my Land Rover.

Result: 1 ill looking 106 and my LR with a bent front bumper and broken headlamp washer. Wink

I had the pleasure of watching a bike courier in London brake hard to stop himself going into the back of the car in front. Only to have the back wheel up in the air and him to promptly fall off.

Also, I agree with the comments about the cyclist on dual carrigeways. Being at the side of the road, cycle lanes will probably be full of all kinds of shit and are probably more unsafe!

I was a passenger in the back of a van, going up a mountain pass in Cape Town in 1994. There were loads of cars,stop start traffic, and some cyclists riding up the mountain too. One of them was a woman, probably in her late thirties, with the most fantastic bum imaginable, on display in some skimpy tight cycling pants. As we went past her, I leaned out the door, and squeezed the bumcheek nearest me. She got such a fright, she veered left and rode off the side of the road, and proceeded to fly down a hugely steep mountainside at full tilt, still waggin her finger at me!

I sincerely hope she made it to the bottom uninjured..

I don't really like cyclists tbh they dont pay tax, dont need an mot, dont need insurance and still take up most of the road, then you see them hop on the pavement when theres a red light? cheeky bastards.

So, does that mean a truck has a lot more 'rights' than a bike, because it pays more money?

Considering petrol tax can be countered by looking at tax made from selling food.

Note that Road tax does not go directly to resurfacing roads and other road stuff - and if it did, the push bikes would still be paying a very minor amount compared to others.

Push bikes have VAT applied. So any bike costing over £30 new will have at the very least £5 paid into the governments coffers.

If a push bike grabs hold of ya' bike to get a lift and you have a problem with this, then I'm sure there's plenty you can do to discourage them. Such as wheelies/learning to wheelie Smile
