Probably just gonna leave it completley black but have white rim tape, gold calipers and probably just a yamaha decal on the front fairings and the R4 on the tail. Not sure where i can get them made up though.

Wannabe yoshi for the win. No one will ever know.

Mark i also have an FZR400 3tj it has been fitted with an FZR600 engine and i was wanting to do the whole R4 thing, just wondering what year R6 fairings fit and R1 tail and is there a lot of cutting and drilling involved or is it a near straight swap,

Everything else is changed to suit the 600 engine, clocks bigger back tyre etc.


Also what effect does this have on my insurance if im riding about a registered FZR400 with yamaha R4 whacked on the tail etc?

Check out www.FZRarchives.com there is a whole section on the forum to do with hybrids

Any mods to the bike will effect the insurance for the worse, especially with a bigger engine and body mods.

No it has a 400 engine. That's why it's an R4.

I didnt say it would be an R4 i said i wanted to go down that line and do the mods that they have done.

Police bike pulls me over (for some reason)
checks my plate and it says fzr400 and to him that doesnt look like an fzr400 and it has 600 smeared along the tail. Will this cause more trouble than its worth?
