Hi,

Theres a small chance I might have a job opportunity in the near future near Cambridge, only being a north-eastern boy I have no idea what its like down there...
So, how is it? I imagine its a nice place, its a uni town so theres probably alot of pubs/shops and cheap places to eat, is it an expensive place to live? I'm worried its gonna be too quiet or a bit boring... I guess its pretty close to London which is good...

Finally, what are the roads like? are there good bike meets near by? are there lots of speed cameras?

Any advice on the area & what its like to live there much appreciated Thumbs Up

Hi dude, i live about 40 miles out of cambridge itself but have a lot of freinds there and all my family live there too Laughing

Its a nice place, very pretty and full of history if thats your thing. Lots of places to escape the world, hidden streams and rivers, big open grassy areas, random bridges that people had forgotten about, its great!

On the other side, it is a very busy town, there is a lot of traffic in rush hours and it can get a bit frustrating. They have some kind of semi-1-way system around some areas and it gets a bit confusing at times.

Big shopping center (Grafton Center) with food courts and a cinema upstairs!

Depending on where you are will dictate how expensive your going to find it, cambridge varies greatly in cost and living expense depending on where abouts you are, but on the whole it isnt cheap, but bearable Thumbs Up

Ive spent all my life growing up and spending time in cambridge and i love it to peices, such a great place!

As for night life i wouldnt know as ive never realy stayed there over night, i do know there are lotsa pubs as you would imagine with a university town, but thats where my knowledge stops Thumbs Up

Hope thats of some help!

Cambridge is a great place to live.. I moved down here 2 years ago, and have loved it.

I rented in Cambridge itself for a year, but I've now bought a place in St Neots, 1/2 an hour west of Cambridge. property isn't cheap in Cambridge, but being a uni town, there's loads of places available to rent.

it's a very relaxed city, small enough to feel friendly, big enough to have everything you need. If there's anything in particular you want to know, feel free to PM me.

cheers guys Thumbs Up

Its still at the very early stages at the moment, I have a call about the job today but fingers crossed, the job sounds good and from the sounds of it the place is nice.

Feef- cheers for that, I'll probably PM you when I have more specific questions if things go to plan Thumbs Up one quick thing though, seen as how you were renting recently, maybe you know some good websites to search for flats available? I've googled alot but keep getting holiday apartments and can't find any good resources...
