Take it easy, Don't panic and DON'T SPEED! it's an instant failing offence...

Don't ask me how I know....

if you stall, don't matter, as long as everything you do is best practice and safe for the circumstances.

Best of luck

It's a tough test. Much harder than the car test IMHO. If you are lucky you'll get an examiner who is following in a car rather than on a bike - then they can't pick you up on your gear changing etc.

As babyblade already mentioned - take it easy and FORWARD PLAN everything. Look right down the road at what's happening or what's likely to happen and ride accordingly. Don't forget your lifesaver looks and positioning for turns.

I got failed the first time for straying into the right hand lane when I made a left turn into a side street. I was just going a little too fast for the corner and understeered over a bit too far. Pretty tough call I thought but there you go. Can't argue with the geezer.

If possible get plenty of practice riding 'properly' so you can be more natural and don't pannic trying to work out which shoulder you should be looking over Smile .

I''d recommend going for an assesment with a bike school - at least they can tell you what your weak points are.. definately worth the money if it get you through the test!? Laughing

i have a full days training on thursday and half a day friday b4 my test.
i did an assessment and they said i only need a 2day course with my test at the end of the 2nd day.
But it doesn't stop me feeling nervous about it and especially as the weather is gonna be crap.
just a fear of the unknown really, as i dont ride my nsr in the rain.

Is the test that i did to get a restricted access licence THAT different from the DAS test?

I guess you'll be doing the same sort of stuff...u-turns, emergancy stops..But the only way they can make it 'harder' is to make it longer?

Good luck Phil..
What are you doing it on by the way, a CB500?

yeah on a CB500, Doing with MSM at belle vue.
Didn't you do it with them ?
My test is in Sale.
Cost me a fortune, so i dont want to have to do a re-test.
Then its a case of either sell my nsr and get a vfr400 or
wait for some compo from an accident at work and get a brand new CBR600F.(part ex NSR)

I did my training and test last week. 3 days training in the wonderful sunshine, then my test in the typical UK rain on Friday. Sad

Luckily the rain had just started to ease of about 30 mins before my test so it didnt worry me too much. Smile
