How's this look for next year:

https://212.234.53.215/GDF/album.php?dpt=83&num=2065

Big architect\'s house situated in the countryside on a 5000m² fenced property. Peaceful surroundings, overbuilt terrasse with garden furniture, swimmingpool (5x12m) with alarm, pool house. Electric heating. Ground floor : 2 kitchens, living room with TV and videoplayer, 3 bedrooms with double bed, 2 bedrooms with bunkbeds, 1 bedroom with 1 single bed. 2 shower rooms, 3 toilets, utility room. 1st floor : childrens corner on mezzanine with bed, desk and TV, 1 double bedded room, shower, toilet."

sleeps up to 12 in 7 bedrooms, swimming pool and all the gubbins.. works out at £1184 for 7 nights. (split between 8, say, that's £148 a head)

Its near Draguignan which is in between the Gorges du Verdon and St Tropez.

Looks pretty good to me. My only concern is the cost of it if we aren't able to get 8 (although that's unlikely after last year).
Like Mike said, when are we looking at going this time - I'm happy for the same sort of time, but can't make it much later due to panto commitments.

I'm pretty sure Lee will be up for it, but I haven't seen hide nor hair of him for a while Confused . I would also be very surprised if Ash didn't come as well.
We just need to try and persuade a few more to come along.

I think we are looking at the best part of 2 weeks this year, although people can make thier own way up and down if they don't want to do the full trip that is being planned.

That's the rough plan at the moment, although we haven't set any dates yet.

I'm imagining 7 nights in the Gite, and 2 days either side for travelling...

I'm sure, however, they owners wouldn't mind if we left early tho. If we've paid for the week, then I don't see it being a problem.

As for getting numbers, I have at least 2 other non-BCF people intersted already, so I think 8 is easy. my thinking is, if we aim for 8, and manage to fill t he house with 12, then it can only make it cheaper for us.

I'm envisaging end of august, start of september again. I wouldnt want it ot be too much into Sept, as I have a weekend in wales planned towards the end of the month

right...

If you're DEFINITELY interested, then PM me saying so.

Provisionally, I think doing similar to last year would be ideal, so that would mean...

Arrow Meeting up at Ashford on the evening of Thursday 30th August.
Arrow Ferry Friday morning
Arrow Ride to Lyon or there abouts for Friday night
Arrow Ride lovely sadistic twisty roads all day to reach the Gite for Saturday night.

Arrow Leaving the Gite the following Saturday morning
Arrow blat up north staying somewhere en-route
Arrow get the Ferry on the evening of Sunday 9th September.

We can maybe sort something out with the Gite people so we leave on the Friday instead, as that would mean we have a day to recover before work.. but that's a detail.

the sooner I can fill the Gite, the sooner I can book it, with a deposit, and firm up the dates. I have 1 definite, and one very interested from another group, so I see no problem with meeting the 8 people I suggested for figures.

If we get MORE than 8, then we might have to have some double-bed sharing again, but the cost will be brought down. If everyone's agreeable to it, those who have to share a double bed (who wouldn't normally, Hippies Wink ), could get a reduced rate.

there are other properties in the area, so it doesn't HAVE to be this one, it just seemed to have everything we had this year, but with better sleeping arrangements. I can find somewhere more suitable if everyone wants their own bed, if you want, However, the sooner we can book it the better. I'd rather have one person in a double bed, and be short of full occupancy, than have one single room lying empty (if that makes sense)

After all, the bed really is, just somewhere to sleep... the rest of the time, we'll be there for the roads, the food, the drink and a general good time.

Looks good too me. One year too early for me though. Looking to do France/Spain in 2008. Got commitments for a tour of Scotland in 2007. Can't afford 2 big trips. Smile

If it goes on the year after though... I'm in. Razz

Hola,

Currently nursing a fractured arm Cool and a beat-up bike Sad from my latest incident but yeah, after the fun of last year, Id love to do it again.

The only problem is that as im only temping and still looking for a proper job I cant really commit to anything that far ahead. Thats was the beauty of the last trip, you'd all arranged it then muggins here dives in right at the end and has a great holiday.

So yes, I definitely want to come, its just that god-forbid, I finally manage to get my career on track, I may not be able to.

So err, what kind of answer is that then.... a crap one obviously. Put me down in the defintely interested pile.
