I used to be able to get about 80mph on this one stretch of road - it was a slight downhill, and rather long+straight. That was real tucked in, and it was hard to get there.

If only I'd realised back then how easy they are to de-restrict. De-restricted is a whole new bike - they're lovely. I can get it to 105mph on a good day.

Speaking of which - recently I've only been getting up to about 95mph on it... This could be due to my tightening the chain, but I'm not sure. Is there any reason why a bike would slow down over time?

I haven't been thrashing it very badly, but I haven't ever had it professionally serviced. Could a good engine cleanout do it any good, or not?

help?

My bike (00 tricolor) went just shy of 90mph on the speedo when I first got it, restricted fully. My mate was well pissed because he'd bought an NSR a month before me and mine seemed to be about 10mph faster than his. Question Question Question I was well pleased Very Happy
Now I've fiddled* with the exhaust restrictor, I've seen 105 on the speedo on a downhill section of the M25. I've only done it a couple of times, but luckily my mate was with me on his NSR (now derestricted) to witness. He couldnt believe how fast it went, cos the carb plate is still there. It takes a while to get to that speed though, and I was practically flat on the tank.

*fiddled, as in couldn't get the fucker out so hammered it back in, though it's full of holes.
