I bought the RXS100 to get to work and back. Tax £15, ins £75, petrol £6 pw. With my van it was Tax £180, ins £900, petrol £55.

Saving £295 per month, or £3530 per year.

Grow my own herbs: assume 1/8 oz per week

Saving £19 per week, £1000 per year

Brew my own beer: assume 40 pints in 2 weeks

Saving £10 per week, £520 per year.

Give up the odd club trip to london for the year, assume once every 3 months:

Saving around £90 per trip, £360 per year

Well thats the just of it, admittedly it doesn't work out exactly as above because sometimes I'm too lazy to start a new batch of beer or herbs, or I simply have to go to london, and then of course sometimes the wife (who has taken over my van) can't afford petrol/insurance, so i get to pay for it anyway Sad Just can't win, can you..

I'll curse myself forever for defending women, but us men do ask women to shave their armpits/legs and axe-wound all the time, so it's only natural they will get cold. Smile

cut out beer,

keep my hair shaved with clippers (no shampoor or conditioner...)

eat mostly root vegetables, get my clothes from chairty shops

that sort of thing

only spend money on essentials

this means food from home taken to work

dont go out, if do go out, have one drink, and get a bus there, and walk back rather than taxi

food is cheap if you make it from raw ingredients, and dont buy fancy ingredients

buy nothing but food, and tickets for public transport, or petrol for a low capacity bike
