you can still hear Jay shouting at the bike and desperately winding the throttle in a vain attempt to make it go faster in those pics

Top day out!

I'm gonna enter next year with a really light bike and hopefully a pair of really light teammates...

... Although the winners were suspected of running a Gilera Runner 125 which wasn't really a 125!

It wouldn't have mattered who won, they would have been accused of cheating!

I think they need to look at the team members:

Steve Mercer (>50 trophys in MRO 2006)
Sam Bishop (excellent SS600 and R6 cup rider)
Bob Farnham (one of the most respected tuners in the business)

Paul, I'll look now. I was looking out for you.

The exhaust rocked, our bike sounded the nuts.

And MarJay I don't think the bike got slower, Phil Seton's bike was still only /just/ edging away on the fast bits just as it was at the start.

I saw the winning team in the programme before the start and just knew that was the winning team.

Fair play to them, they/their bike were streets ahead.

We still whooped Rob Elsmere. (And G had a little interface with him?)

Mid race the bike was not revving as high as it was at the beginning, and there was definately a C70 pulling away from G on the downhill part after the hairpin. It happened on a couple of laps.

Later in the race the bike sounded healthier though...

That c70? I was there, but I didn't know anyone, so after I lost my camera and got it back again, I stood around like a loner, laughed at the people falling off and rode 170 miles home again. Laughing

On this. Bastard uncomfy!

Mate! They are sweet. Take that Andy Weymouth!
And MarJay I guess the coolant/overheating thing was probably causing that. Cuz when I got back on it again it seemed normal.

Why is everybody sitting up along the straights?

I would have expected some hardcore 'full prone' action in a 1960's 50cc TT style. Putting one hand behind your back can be good for 3mph on your top speed. You're not going fast unless you're kissing the clocks on a 50 (regardless of actual speed).

Is it only for production road bikes or do people turn up with fully clipped out, 105mph Kreidler twins on occasion and wipe the floor with everything?

I remember him passing me actually! Because I was using the full width of the track and I very very nearly forced him onto the grass.

https://www.motographs.co.uk/images/200107-Lydden-moped-madness/Misc//Small/IMG_7303.JPG

And my position was kinda half way between hanging off for the bend, and getting into my fully tucked in position for the straight.

Or maybe I was fighting to keep the front wheel down...who knows.
