London Smartcar Gatso?

This is one for Londoners.

Was in London today in the van and while driving down a quiet residential backstreet in Ruislip. I came round a corner and saw a cream coloured Smartcar (FourTwo) parked up on the side of the road with a 1-2ft high black pipe, like a periscope, sticking out the top of it and as I drove past a Gatso sticker on the door.

As is natural I thought, hmm shit, was I speeding and did it get me, wasn't expecting it to be there. However google reveals only 1 Smartcar in London that's used for enforcing bus lanes and parking violations, and its black, But if this was the same, why park it where it was, neither were an issue. Only thing it was near was a T-junction onto another road with some temp traffic lights, but it couldn't see the lights so can't imagine it was after red light jumpers.

Anyone know exactly what it is?

Whatever your technical definition of "London" is, I'd say Ruislip is generally regarded as London area, you're just being pedantic. I have a Birmingham postcode but I technically live in Dudley and also come under Dudley Council, it's certainly never described as Birmingham.

Sickpup you're so irritating. You've just admitted theyre technically part of greater london, which I'd say makes them fair game to call it London, but more to the point, why the hell does it matter for this thread.

Seeing as the entire point of this thread was to ask ppl from the London area about a place not 1mile from your precious postcodes of london you're posts are clearly just a form of entertainment on your part for these bored lonely nights, get a life and start arguing about things less trivial with somebody who doesn't already think your an idiot.

I know Ruislip well, do you know where exactly it was, out of interest, like?

Whenever people outside of London ask whereabouts I'm from, I say Northwest london rather than the London Borough of Hillingdon. Which is a shame, really, because London is an absolute fucking hole.

I don't know to be honest, I was just following the satnav, trying to get from Rickmansworth to Isleworth without using the M25. Looking at the map it may have been in the residential bit behind Copse Wood, it was a residential road, just near a T junction to a bigger road with some temp traffic lights on. Could possibly have been Northgate.
