Well I picked up another J33P Cherokee today tis a stock '89 4.0 straight 6.

The main reason I brought it was the fact its a manual cant stand auto's. Plus its just had a load of engine work done (timing chain etc) and a rebuilt gearbox and a new clutch.

Completely stock atm:

Paint on the boot and bonnet is a bit owned but already got a replacement lined up.

Mods planned:

Replace missing parts on interior and fit new seats.

Winch (waiting to be fitted)

Spots on the roof (waiting to be fitted)

6 Inch lift going to attempt to fit my self Mr. Green

33X12 tyres and wheels to match.

Snorkel.

Going to loose the catalytic converter just for the noise Mr. Green

Undecided mods:

Roll cage.

New paint job, perhaps mat black.

I will keep it updated with pic's as it progresses.

Any one else got an offroad project ?

I'm trying to get mine going and i will do when i'm back in Dubai and funds permit it.

Will get the exhausts welded up as they are blowing and cut out the centre box just to sound cooler.

Got much more planned, will post up later Thumbs Up

I really wouldn't bother if you're going to use it offroad, it'll just piss you off more when it gets scratched and dented if you've paid to have it repaired.

Am currently sorting my L200 for going to the Pyrenees for 3 weeks offroading with a couple of bikes on the back. Winch bumper & rear bar, spotlights, winch, snorkel, roof rack, some more lights and lots of other bits as well. Planning on raising the truck 5" in the summer, its not big enough as it is. Wink

Right.

Got a bit more time now so i'll bash out a longer reply.

Long term plan is 6 inch lift, 33" tyres, FIA spec roll cage (it's old and shitty and needs reinforcing is my excuse!) Sparco EVO bucket seats and harnesses, GPS.

Short term plan is the exhaust ripped apart, K&N cone slapped on and a Sony Xplod sound system (to be taken out once i start playing in the desert) and the AC re-gassed.

Maybe a bit of rallying if i got sponsorship for the 4x4 class.
