On removing the camchain tensioner from my 1999 ZX6R G2 it appears to be from the J model (or possibly the F model?) According to the manual it should have a slot in the end so that you can lock it when installing it. Mine has a spring & rod. The plunger also has a ratchet which i don't think the G2 one should have. Anyone know if this is a common modification & could it cuase any problems?

Don't worry, these parts are interchangeable. If you feel you really need one from a G model, you are welcome to one of mine.

Thanks for the offer bud, as long as it won't do any harm I will put it back in, there is no sign of wear on it. I have no idea when it was replaced I was just worried it may have been put in as a bodge.

No problems. If you're ever stuck for ZX6R engine components, i've got shedloads. Most are interchangeable in one form or another, sometimes you have to change other bits too. Cheers.
