Hi,

Just for anyone who uses Yahoo mail. This morning at work, anyone who logs into their mail servers has been getting a virus during log in.

It's the Feebs Trojan. We are currently in contact with Symantec to see whats going on as it's not getting cleaned properly.

It could be a false positive setting off symantec but I'd rather warn you guys rather than have a bunch of you with infected machines.

I'll post up if i hear anymore.

Just loaded it to see if anything happens but nothing.

I am using F-Secure anti-virus (supplied by Barclays) and Ad-watch active monitoring. They did not detect anything.

Still on the phone to Symantec.

They think it is a problem with their software as all of the infected files that are being reported are java script files, and the virus it says it contains doesn't infect java!!!

Just ignore me in the future.

Symantec Suck!!!!

Sorry peeps! Embarassed

LOL. I'm using Norton 2007, running Firefox 2.0.0.2 and it doesn't come up as a virus on Yahoo Mail.

Just your work comps mate. Wink

Symantec have confirmed they have a problem with the definition file that our systems are on and they are releasing an update later in the day.

Edit/

The problem file is definition 27/02/2007 Rev 35

This needs to be replaced with Rev 80 which I've just been told was sent out about 20 mins ago

We had the same issue this morning which I thought may be a false positive, cos the virus it picked up was found way back in 2005.

We're waiting for the update too! Thumbs Up

https://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/download/pages/US-SAVCE.html

Use this link to get any new updates!

Use XDB files to put on the server, and then push to clients or the EXE if your just updating the odd client PC.

I've been shouting at them about one of our intrusion prevention devices we have of theirs that has gone wrong and they won't support.

I'm leaving here so i don't really care, but when i told our Symantec account manager that he could shove the replacement up his arse, and that as he was being such a sod about this he can forget me renewing 900 anti virus licenses at the end of the month.

He soon became VERY nice!

Tell someone who thinks they are important to shove something up their arse. It really throws them as they expect you to at least be polite!

It's either that or he's seen the size of this thing and is a bit worried!
