Sad .

Went to turn it round on a downhill so I could park it facing uphill and nearly dropped it about half way round (as I got to 90degrees on the hill). Laid it down on it's right hand side as lightly as I could but it's done a bit of damage anyway (despite me literally placing it on the road). 2 small scuffs on the front of the fairing which might T-cut out (not through to the bodywork) and some slightly deeper scuffs on the bottom of the bellypan which are gonna be permanent I think. Plus a bent rear brake lever, though that will just bend back, and the right hand mirror now has some scratches all over the side of it.

Could have been much worse I know, but this bike was literally immaculate before this and it's already been tarnished by my stupidity having only had it about 2 weeks. Put me in such a bad mood Crying or Very sad .

Edit: Also forgot to mention that when I came back to the bike the battery was flat Rolling Eyes . Joy o' f***ing joy.

It takes a while to get entirely familiar with a new bike's balance points.
I have done this in the garage before now!
(So annoying when it gets to that point where you can't quite stop it going from where you're standing Mad )

Why did you want to park it uphill? Just leave it in gear - nearest thing you have to a handbrake on a bike.

I'm guessing it's so it didn't roll off its stand?

My thoughts exactly. And my GPZ500 is a bloody nightmare to park on either stand on anything less than level ground. The side stand is too long, I reckon Evil or Very Mad

Thats why I said leave it in gear. Never known a bike a roll off its stand in gear, and I've left mine pointing down some really steep inclines.

That's informative...thanks. Have done it in a car, but never thought of doing it on a bike.

Just be carefull to knock it out of gear before trying to set off or you'll look a twat when you stab the starter and it goes off without you..

They do sometimes creep past compression but its better than leaveing it in neutral as far as stoping it rolling..
