After spending every night this week in the garage choking on various fumes, spilling wonderfully harmful chemicals on myself and generally coming out looking like I'd just been sweeping chimneys... I got the RVF back into one piece again

Replacement bodywork is going to take about a month to sort out, and I was going mad without my baby so a few litres of araldite and some creative use of sellotape and I now have a bike again

Just got back from taking it for a test ride to make sure I'd not left anything too important unbolted. It was cold and drizzling, but you couldn't get the smile that's on my yap right now off with a power sander

All the important bits are sorted now, I've replaced the subframe, sorted the forks, gave the whole thing a cleaning & greasing and rebuilt the calipers fitting some braided hoses. I even managed to unsieze the rear shock preload adjuster, which had been stuck on "6 stone chinese man" mode ever since I got the bike.

As for the bodywork it looks a bit tatty (hence the plasters over my avatar) but it all holds together well enough and should be fine until the replacement bits are ready.

Did I mention I'm fucking happy? :o 8) :o 8)

and cable ties....

After stacking my cg once I cable tied the front brake lever on (the lever had broken off)!.. and carried on to where I was going... not that it actually made a significant difference to the CGs brakes, but it did mean I had to hold it in the right position to stop it dangling down :)

Did mean to try for Chelsea Bridge tonight but didn't make it down. Maybe next week (or see you Sunday at box hill if you're coming down).

As for paint I'm getting it re-sprayed in the same paint scheme, with a few subtle differences I've got in mind.
