Managed 2 with Chez on the back on Friday. Just cranked the throttle and held on.
Downgeared the bike at the weekend (Got the sprocket fitted during a tyre change) and made a few more attemps Sat and Sun. Was gonna give it up as a bad job but decided to try once more on the way to work.
Ohhh yeah! Probably not the highest or longest wheelie around (Ran out od road pretty quick) but was fun nontheless Very Happy
Got the bug now, gonna have to learn to clutch it up in 2nd.

I've not had the chance to try any extended ones, but clutched ones off the light's no-where near the balance point with+without a pillion is all i've done so far.

What i find is, as soon as get to a certain height I shut off the throttle autmatically but I know it would of been ok to kept the throttle open, so I always kik myself for doin it but I am still learning.

off of speed bumps

If I've got no traffic behind me I usually stop on thoughs long kind of speed humps and wheelie off them, it's a weird feeling when going down a hump with the front wheel up.

You don't need the clutch to wheelie in second on the Blade. Wink

Open throttle to 3-4k, close throttle, open throttle. There you go. Smile

I always close the throttle again after that though, 'cos I'm scared Embarassed

What you really learn from is the ones that went a bit too high. You think "shit shit shit shit shit, oh wait, that wasn't actually so high - I'll try it again". If you can still see anything over the screen/clocks you're not high enough, the balance point really is much farther than you would think.

I am realising this! for some reason I automiticly shut off before I can think about it. I think once the fear goes away i will be able to play around with the balance point more I know a couple of times i have found the balance point but Im not good enough to keep it but practise makes perfect.

Abovementioned statement comes from an experience biker.
Even on my 125 NSR when i wheelie i still don't reach my balance point and the bike is way past 90 degrees vertical.
Wheeling is all about balance, throttle co-ordination and rear brakes.

Pah, rear brakes are for people who can't control the throttle properly Laughing (or 'starboy' type stunts, which are a totally different ballgame anyway) Put it this way, I regularly go way over being able to see over the screen/clocks, in which case I try to stand up instead. Wink I couldn't even see anything over the top of goose's 250 and that's a really short bike.

Example :-

(sorry for hotlinking bend) Very Happy

The balance point is waaaay over what you think it is. Smile The problem is fear takes over and you just shut the throttle straight away, the only thing you can do to overcome this is keep on practicing. The more and more time you spend on the back wheel the more natural it becomes. Personally, I reckon I could go on for almost as long as I like now, at BdB I was doing way over the 1/4 mile on the first day and I only put it down because I was unsure of the surface after the 1/4 mark. Mr. Green

Remember, practice makes perfect. Very Happy

I've had the Blade come off the power in 1st and 2nd fairly easy. Dean find a fairly steep rise in a road, or a humpback bridge 2nd or 3rd gear.... Wink

I think we should set up a stunt day where a load of us go and practise wheelies etc. and just help eachother develop are skills. Razz

Jon has mentioned an arifield but its unfair to relie on him. Does anyone if its possible to rent a some spar land or something to practise on.

It would also be a good idea to have lots of medical kit just in case. Confused

I might be going to the airfield this Saturday late afternoon, there's another bit of land next to the runway to practice stunts cause I'm not 100% if anyones using the runway that weekend..........

......... if anyone wants to come along? (no point in coming from far away cause I haven't cleared it with my mate so could get thrown out).
