Very nasty. Poor bloke would've not known what happened.

I've heard of Tacks, thorned branches and fine wire on Public Byways which is bad enough, but this is taking the biscuit.

It makes me sick to think that people can put this wire up knowing exactly what it'll do.

My girlfriend who's a nurse, once worked with someone who had a patient come in from a similar accident. I think they were in a motocross competition and someone had strung cheese wire across two trees. This person (can't remember if it was a child or adult) on the bike hits it with his neck and it throws him off, much like the guy in Weedy's post. But this wire actually cut right through his oesophagus. When the guy got into hospital the oesophagus was dropping down into his chest and the doctors only just managed to pull it back out before he suffocated on his own blood Shocked Sick

Not nice Thumbs Down

That is just so bloody sad. Who the fuck thinks they have the right to set a trap like that? With the intent on doing the most damage possible.

For the rider to be full decapitated I would imagine he didn't let go of the bike on the moment of impact, which perhaps could have save his life.

After reading this, I'm bloody worried about the little twats out there setting traps on lampposts. I can imagine them reading this somewhere and thinking "COOL!".

I'm wearing neck protection for sure.

Ramblers. Mainly the older ''tree hugging'' type.

They hate Greenlaning & Trail riding and will go to any lengths to stop it.

Does this mean we now have an excuse to bludgeon stick waving ramblers?

yes, driving a car is highly dangerous as
someone could be set up on the roof with a sniper rifle waiting to blow your head off, you really should drive more sensibly

Just wondered if anyone else saw this on the news.

https://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/6600995.stm

Seems pretty disrespectful in the extreme, for the police to use this without talking to the family concerned.

Cant help but feel this was a total C*** up.

How any grieving family could consider forgiving anyone from
using pictures, as described, without their express permission is beyond me.

The people responsible should hang their heads in shame.
As part of a court trial, perhaps ok, it MIGHT be neccessary to gain a conviction,
but as a safety (anti-speeding media briefing) stunt, ............it's beyond belief. Evil or Very Mad

Doesn't everyone deserve some dignity, even in death?
What about the guys 'human rights'?
I'm sure any other group, would have been shown more
respect and sensitivity.

Heart felt condolences to the family, for having the loss re-opended in such an unneccessary way.

The Police were well out of order.

I also don't agree with the BBC giving the name of the victim in their article.
