The majority of us come from the Uk so were generally not all that well up on the SP. Most we know is not to buy them over here because they are grey imports.

If it was a strait choice between a cbr4 and a nsr125 sp i'd go for the CBR400..more power, non of that 2s smell

Full of mistakes me of late

10:35am... you should be awake by then <give Summy a slap Smile>

That'd be UK not US. IMHO I'd probably go for a NSR over a CBR250, the power probably won't be that different and it'll be lighter & smaller. IT should also be easier to maintain.

The SP's are very nice bikes (check out this one). Single sided swing arm, 36bhp. From what I gathered when I talked to an owner of one, it does 0-60 in 5.5 seconds and tops out at an indicated 115mph.

Ive found that ppl in Aus generally have the opinion that the ol 4 stroke CBR 250 is; 1) a quicker bike, 2) less maintenance, 3) more rider friendly in traffic and an overall better bike. Ppl in europe on the other hand seem to wanna go for 2 strokes. Is that coz u guys have have diff power restictions for learners or cbrs arent officially imported? If u guys could, would u still opt for an nsr150 over a cbr250?

Neither bike is considered a learner (Limit is 125, 15hp). While the CBR will need less regular maintenance I would expect it would be more complicated: it's a parrelel 4, 4st which revs to 20k, as opposed to a single 2st.
The weight (or lack of) does it for me... this can also get you out of trouble 'cos the bike can almost alway corner a fair bit quicker than you actually are doing.
