Cheers gsxrmick, the worst thing is its in french so navigating is a complete mission. Im enjoying it anyways, not really being very productive.

For the record: The reason I am trying to do this is because i have a wireless router in the house and the signal is encrypted. The laptop has vista and is french. When i try to connect to my wireless network i type the password which I have set on my router, and it doesnt accept the password. For the time being i have disabled the security of my wireless which I am not happy about, but it works and I am able to connect wireless to teh net with the laptop. So i wanted to change the language of the laptop to effectively the toubleshoot the authentication issue.

I even changed the encryption to WEP, WEP2, 128bit standard, changed the password quite a few times.

Can you not type a password into notepad, then copy and paste it into your settings? That why the keys will match?

Sorry mate....the only thing I can think of is that the laptop wireless card aint compatible with your security setup i.e. WEP etc. Or have you tried that too?

If you're using the French keyboard layout to type the password, then the numbers will not work: on a french keyboard, the numbers are not actually numbers at all, '12345678' comes out as '&é"'(§è!'.
So I would make sure the layout is in English when typing your pass..

Yeah dude i know that, after i type my password i also typed the same to a notepad and it displayed the correct data.

I changed the keyboard to English, and still no joy.

Possible errors
- either im a retard ( unlikely )
- issue with wireless card & encryption
- Vista
- Router

im going to test with another wireless laptop to make sure its not the wireless router.
