i'll explain. friend just contacted me, partners been cheating on her, but in order to go through with divorce etc. she needs to prove he's been seeing somebody else. she knows who it is, and he's denied contacting her ever.

friend can get hold of his sim card while he's asleep and that's it. she says she's even willing to pay 500 quid just to get an itemized contract of his (o2)

is there any kind of sim card reader that can read the info of a sim inserter, and actually save it to the device?

don't want one that needs to be plugged into the pc first.

cheers Thumbs Up

Phone records will prove nothing, use a P.I. to get photos or something.

And the answer is no anyway, not in any way that will be of any use...

If it's for a legal purpose stealing someone's phone isn't going to provide admissible evidence IIRC.

This looks promising:

Would it not be better her sending a few texts from his phone to her?

no mozzer he's wazzed a pin on it now she's got suspicious, he NEVER lets her look at his phone but he says he's completely innocent.

it's not exactly for legal purposes, but she just needs some proof to shove in his face when she boots him out of the house

SIM cards only hold around 10 text messages by the way, the rest (up to 1000+ these days) are stored on the phone, so if you're thinking of getting text messages off the SIM then forget it, they're not on there.

Also, phones tend to default to storing contacts on the phone rather than the SIM card too, rendering pulling contacts off the SIM a useless idea too.

numbers aren;t that important, she just needs an SMS to the other person.

I've never seen a SIM card reader that will read text messages from a SIM card. This combined with the fact that there will only be around 10 on there, if lots of other people text him then you might not get lucky.

I think that you'll need to find another way to get the info to be honest.

A classic is to simply ring up their provider, pretend to be him and ask for an itemised bill. I imagine she'll know all of the answers to the security questions, just you'll need to ring and pretend to be him.

If the contract is an O2 online contract, then the entire itemised bill for the life of the contract can be viewed with a single username/pass. Either guess a few, check his pc and see if the details are saved, or install a keylogger etc etc.

Get a little more creative. Very Happy

If its a nokia, turn on the bluetooth, connect to the phone from a nearby PC using Nokia Suite and then you can browse / download / upload anything from the phone. As long as you stay within 10M of the phone you can do it.

No doubt other phone makes have the same software.

Why don't you stay out of it? Unless you've been nailing the woman, I'd suggest you leave them to fight their own battles.

The PIN is stored on the SIM card, so the phone is irrelevant.

Oh, and there isn't a default PIN for every SIM, either.
