Just did my first long-ish ride (35 miles) on my new CBR having passed my CBT. Sitting in the office with a big smile on my face now.

Can't wait for the ride home - beats sitting in my car on a sunny day!!!

Very Happy Very Happy

Gawd bless country A-roads!

Try explaining that feeling to a dedicated cager, and you'll be greeted by a vacant look.

Even commuting still gives me a buzz when I'm on the bike Thumbs Up Wink

Nice one.

You've now got two more milestones:
1) The first long ride no-where in particular because you don't have to be at work right now...
2) The first glee of filtering through stopped traffic on the commute (unless you've been particularly brave today).

Wink

Have fun.

Didn't know 35 was considered longish. No disrespect Razz By the end of each day I've usually racked up another 50/60 miles. That's just going to work and back then pottering about.
*cough* lightweight *cough*
Seriously Thumbs Up well done if you've reached a milestone Smile

Didn't see the just passed CBT part Embarassed sorry Razz

Thanks Chaps, it's 35miles each way. Not a long ride in the grand scheme of things but the longest I have been so far.

Big smile on my face as I filtered past a long line of cars on the way home. hahahaha suckers!!!

Shitty and raining today so back in the car. Hoping for better weather tomorrow.

I love the way other bikers give me "the nod" as they pass, makes me feel accepted even though I'm still on L plates.

I bought a 125 Varadero as my first bike a few days ago but, because of no tax it's been sat in the garage. My insurance docs arrived yesterday so last night my bike was legal - hurrah!

I was umming and aahing about going out as it was pissing down with rain but in the end stupity got the best of me and away I went and DAMN how much fun is it!! Just riding round, going nowhere in particular just enjoying myself, it was a blast so I can totally appreciate what you're saying.

However, cornering was damn scary, I have NO idea how far I can lean over, plus the Vara is quite a heavy 125 so it's going to be a while before I can corner comfortably in the rain. Great fun though!

i remember my first ride. amazing stuff. my first overtake a land rover Twisted Evil Laughing

then my first filter past 20 odd cars. my friend in his nice little corsa being 5 minutes behind me on a 15 mile trip Smile fun times.

the varadero has really good cornering ability i recall. get to a roundabout and lean lean lean.

Karma Thumbs Up

Fan-tastic! That's quite a distance in my book - I've only got a CBR125 myself and my ride to work is about 5-6 miles! My longest rides are on my lessons, so yeah, I can be riding for two hours sometimes, but it doesn't seem that far.

Sayin that, if I leave work on time I hit the rush-hour city traffic, and it can take me up to 45 mins of queueing misery to get home. On the bike, I can be home in 15, with the aid of a bit of careful filtering.

Nice one Thumbs Up

Not mine - checked the tyre pressure, front was down 10psi, rear was down 19 (should have been 29, actually was 10)! Turns out I had a puncture - hopefully cornering will feel ten times better when that's sorted.

i think its best in the twisties on a roads. but yeah that much of your tyre pressure is really quite dangerous.
