hi guys, am i right in thinkin that the the rvf isnt that much better then the vfr, its just got a different bit of body work/ paint job and ram air, the rest is bout the same init. So why do rvf's have such a ausome reputation when they arent that much better? and they carry a much more heafty price tag. ne1 agree/ dissagree? Question

The main difference is the handling, the power delivery and top speed are slightly improved over the vfr but it's the handling that sets it apart from any other middleweight bike. That and the fact that they're quite rare hikes up the price.

I personally think that the RVF is more aesthetically pleasing...I don't like the headlights on the VFR...

As far as I understand it all the changes were minor improvements to an already outstanding bike. The NC30 (VFR)had a great reputation already but was bettered (slightly) by the NC35 (RVF)

one of the big differences was a smaller wheel on the NC35

Oh yeah... IMHO I prefer the look so of the vfr... like the 'retro' suberbike kinda thing

I'm going with G on this one. I love the look of the VFR....Mmmm nice round headlights, the only thing I would have to change is the rear light unit..Put a crap tray in or something...

I thought the VFR was slightly quicker, summat to do with the carbs on the RVF being smaller so dropping the powerlower down the range.

The RVF is 5mph or so quicker due to gearing, the carbs are smaller than the nc30 because of japanese power restrictions but they breathe better so when set up correctly with the right size jets actually help make more power, despite the intention being to restrict it.

how much would you expect to pay for an RVF or VFR in reasonable condition? and does anyone know a 0-60 time (I don't work in 1/4 mile time's yet)?

Plus would you say the NSR and other sports 125's have better handling- so on a twisty road where you can only do about 80 anyway would a 125 beat it?

I like the RVF's better- I saw a review of the 400's in Bike and it looked fantastic.

a low mileage (13k) vfr in mint con = £2500 to £2300
a low mileage (13k) rvf in mint con = £3000 to £3300
these are private prices, u could wack on another £500 for trade. I hope to be picking up one of these little beauties in a couple of months Twisted Evil

the rvf has front upside down forks aswell, which considerably sharpen the handling
an nsr or rs125 could keep up in really tight corners, but if youre talkin about speeds of 80 no chance, the power delivery is far superior, once the power goes down, bye bye nsr
also the rs250 does handle better than the 125(better weight distribution makes it more stable) so the same may apply in case of rvf v nsr
