I try not to - usually run out of grip first; if the pegs go down I probably need to hang off more .

If anyone owns a G or J model Ninja they will find the pegs decking out all the time. Mines used to ground all the time when the bike was leaned over. Quite annoying after a while.

i voted no but i got the pegs down (both sides) very easy on a Yam BT1100 hire bike i had not long ago, could almost do it pulling off the drive!

I've had the left peg down around roundabouts a couple of times, roundabouts I ride alot that is....
Funny thing is I would have to vote 'no' for the knee down thread, I've never even tried, not having leather trousers being the main reason... but also I don't hang off so much, I prefer to lean the bike more, might not be as good technically but I just prefer to ride that way, it feels good to crank it over

i got my pegs down on my 1st bike (dna 50) and on my 125(suzuki gn) but not tried on my 400. only just learnt knee down, but on my gn i got my exhaust scraping floor. scerd the crap out off me

Practice and it will feel more natural - arse off a bit and face 'kissing the mirror'.

A modern sports bike 'works' better when hanging off thanks to the geometry.

I always used to just stick my arse off the seat and had to make a conscious effort to stick my upper torso off on track. So I practised doing it riding to work and back; then it felt natural to do it on track without having to focus on my body position.

Personally, if I'm going to stick something on the deck I'd prefer it to be as wide as possible so it doesn't get caught in stuff and with as much 'suspension' as possible so that it's less likely to destabilise the bike.

I really should get leathers and sliders for when hanging off, jeans fray when they meet tarmac(knee's and skin unharmed)..... Peg downs aren't as cool Imo, the police notice the sparks when following you.

Pegs go down on the xj very easily - it's taken a fair amount of my boots away too. Coming from a sportsbike and riding it to work you do have to remind yourself you cannot carry the same amount of speed.

Toes have gone down on gsxr whilst mid kneedown, but not pegs. Don't really want to either.

I've done it on the JogR and the YBR. The pegs come before the knee on those bikes. ...

However i could only ever get the peg down on the right hand side (going around a rounderbout) never tried to get it down on a corner.
