Hi Guys,
I'm very new to biking.

Finally had enough of London's public transport (especially the tube) after nearly 10 years of using it to get to work every day!

Saw hundreds of people buzzing around on scooters and thought - "That's going to be me!".

Chatted to a mate who had a scooter and who'd done the CBT on a proper geared bike just to get the most learning out of the day.
So I did the same.

Loved the bike (CG125). plans for a scooter were rapidly disappearing out of the window.

A week after CBT I hired a CG125 for a week to see how I got on with the ride to work, parking etc. All fine. And still loving the bike.

So a week after giving it back (and another week on the tube!) I picked up my brand new, jet black CG125! Very Happy

That was only on Saturday morning and absolutely loving it!

No doubt I wil have some stupid questions in the near future and having been reading this forum for a few weeks now, it seems to be a great place to come for the answers!

So err, just saying hello basically! Smile

hello there

whats riding in london like? I've only ever been to Swindon or Oxford city centers, Swindon is just millions of roundabouts, and Oxford is just lots of ancient roads that hate vehicles Wink

Whenever I've been to London the roads have always looked a bit hectic in places Razz

Certainly the roads can be a bit hectic but managing OK so far.
The congestion charge means there are less cars in the City than there used to be but still hundreds of taxis and busses to dodge! Smile

I used to ride a push bike all round London a few years back and I think that gives me a bit of an advantage in keeping myself out of trouble. Feels wierd going past the traffic on the other side though! Very Happy

Thanks for the welcomes!

Impressed you lasted 10 years.

Three months on the tube had me in the scooter shop handing over my hard-earned cash.

Yeah, I'm completely at a loss to understand why I didn't do it sooner. Confused

Welcome to the forum, Eddie.

I lasted one day on the tube, and haven't been back to London since.

As for the CG125: I may be picking one of these up tonight. I'm torn between that and a City Fly CLR125, though.
