That's nothing! Before I changed the tyre on my 125 it was so bold that when I took it off you could feel your fingers if you're touching form the inside and outside.

And my current rear tyre on the Hornet is quite bad and needs replacing...

Just had both tyres changed today.
The tread on my front tyre had gone down so bad it was like a racing slick

I did a trackday on a tyre worse than that. Admittedly I think I killed it because it went flat the next day .

To be honest I think thats a bit of a scare tactic. The tyre is worn but I wouldn't say it's anything major.

Scare mongering you into buying tyres from them more often maybe?

Nothing that exciting happened on mine .
Few false neutrals and stalls, the odd hitting of a rev limiter.
Didn't even drop the bike.
I did after the CBT though, in front of a police car .
I don't have a rev counter so can't see when I'm red lining it.
Closest I've come to a wheelie was when I was so worried about stalling I slightly over compensated with the throttle.
This was more of a violent lurch though .

One of my old tyres was actually past that stage of material, onto the horizontal banding. About 3 miles later it developed a small puncture and I rode it home flat.

The CG will rev untill it reaches the limit of gas flow in and out the engine, basically you'll feel the power drop off.

Although you should be shifting up well before then .
