How do you clean your lid

I have an Arai chaser and it says the cheekpads are removeable.

I can get them 75% of the way out, but they seem to be attached to the strip of padding that goes all the way around the base of the helmet. i don't think this part is meant to be removed.

Which parts of my helmet are removeable, and which aren't? I don't want to trash my £300+ lid! (I've not even rode my bike yet ffs!)

And how should i clean the interior? (Not that it needs it right now, but i just wanna know). I've read that you can just stick the shower head inside them. Is this true?? Wouldn't that make the EPS go all manky?

Looks to me as though that EPS foam stuff would absorb water, and i'm sure that wouldn't be good!

I try not to think about what's inside me lid, with regards to manky bacteria. Ignorance is bliss. It's as clean as a whistle so it is...

Well i'm still a teenager, so my skin gets quite greasy, can't imagine it'd take long before the padding gets rather minging.

I'll just take it to the local Hein Gericke where i bought it, and tell 'em to wash it. For the price i paid, they'd probably do it

use warm water and baby shampoo. clean, rinse and let dry.

Use a balaclava under the lid. The interior of mine is still as good as new after 8 months of 2 hours daily use. As for the exterior, I clean only the visor. the rain does the rest for me.

Nothing in a helmet that suffers from damp.
You sweat like a rapist in the things don't you?

Equipment:
Hand towel
Shampoo (Neutrogena, Prevents nasty Build Up' ).
Warm water.

1) Soak towel in warm shampooeee water.
2) Wrap towel around fist.
3) Fist Fcuk your lid with towel for about a minute.
4) Rinse towel in clean warm water
5) Repeat steps 2 to 4 two or three times.
6) Turn lid upside down and allow to air dry. (Overnight should be fine)

I have just blootered into it with the showerhead too on occasion but it soaks the foam and then it takes about eight weeks to dry.

Never cleaned interior, why not just take a shower more often?

and for Exterior I use Mr Sheen if you've never cleaned your helmet exterior you clearly dont ride hard enough.

Thought I'd add my two pence.

I actually use wet kitchen roll going over the visor and helmet - its enough, and then a dry bi to dry it thats all lol.

3 years old, the lining inside is starting to fall apart, one of the vents has dissappered, the bottom plastic covering the Foam has gone so its now exposed.

Purchasing a new one tommorow, only a K Series AGV, because, its light, quiet and bloody comfy, and for £109 im not complaining.

Mates just got a Ti tech for £ 369.99 and yes its gorgeous, but i can see the differences when its on your head

only ever bothered to clean the visor really, my lids solid black so it hides the fly splats pretty well. and i dont ride off road so thats the worst it really gets!

Riding in the rain cleans the main shell ... and occasionally a wet tissue to clean the visor
