Yup, it's happened.

Out on a test ride on a 675 this afternoon and a tool in a Yaris decided to pull a U-tun from a layby on the left, straight in front of me. He pulled out a little and stopped, as if he was moving to see what was coming, I'd rolled off the gas as soon as I saw him go but I assumed that he'd seen me. As soon as he started moving again I hit the horn and the brakes but just couldn't quite stop in time. Bang. I went over the bars and down the bonnet, landing just in front of the car.

I've left a nice big dent in the drivers door and a few bits of plastic on the road but the bikes not too bad on the whole - just plastics from what I could tell. I'm fine, just achey and stiff. From the damage to the bike and the fact that I didn't go over the car I can only assume that I was almost stopped when I hit (the brakes on a 675 are bloody good, and the back wheel was in the air somewhere).

I'm not sure who I feel most sorry for, the bloke whose bike it is or the bloke who has to tell the bloke whose bike it is!

Nothing for me to pay, it's all on works/the drivers insurance. I've spoken to one of my colleagues this evening and he's going to call the owner first thing.

No photos yet, but there will be some.

Exactly what happened to me. Apart from when she didn't see me, she really didn't see me and hit me in the side when she pulled out.
