Been looking at a replacement for my ZX636R for a while now and due to buying a house shortly im struggling to get the cash together for the ZX10R i've been wanting sooooooo i have been drawn to a '01-03 Aprilia RSV.
Does anyone run an RSV 365 days a year as i'm going to be using this bike for everything including commuting and it will be kept outside with only a cover to protect it from the elements.
That's really my only concern unless anyone has anything else to contribute, looks like a decent bike for the money, going to get one test ridden soon, have only sat on one so far but it feels more comfortable than my cramped zx6r and i've always fancied giving the v-twin thing a go ____________________ Past: '96 Thundercat, '02 ZX636R (A1P), '58 KTM 690 SM LC4 Current: '06 ZX636R (C6F)

Its an Italian machine. It wont take to abuse by the elements very well, I'd suggest something a bit less exotic for commuting tbh. ____________________ Will work for petrol

Nice 10R! Just out of curiosity, where was your front tyre made?
I'd say go for whichever bike you really want. If you really want the RSV, then get it, but if you really want the 10R, then save for that instead! ____________________ www.bikepics.com/members/jackcheese <--- NOW FOR SALE! 51 Plate Cagiva Planet 125

/Broken record mode/
Yea you can't go wrong mate, I use mine EVERY day of the year, in all conditions and its no hassle. Like every other bike, when used through winter you would want to give it a clean as the salt and crap can make the bike look messy. I took mine over to southern Ireland last year where it took the wrath of their shitty roads and crap weather and was absolutely fine.
Mine has well over 30,000 miles on now and most people say its just been broken in, good job as it always gets a hammering.
I also commute to work on it everyday annoying everyone with its noise. Also shows up the bland jap bikes so they often leave the good parking place to me!
For the money I don't think you can go wrong, mine was 4k but have seen many R versions go for just over that with very little miles. Insurance is also good if you shop around abit.
But the only issue I have had was with mine was an old battery that I got replaced, was a good few years old though. The bike is very easy to work with and its very reliable, so never have any doubts that it won't get me somewhere.
The power and handling is great but will let you find out how fun it is.

Don't get me wrong the RSV isn't the second best option it's just cheaper! And i probably will get the 10r next im just a few grand short at the moment due to a house purchase and i itching for a new ride!!
The RSV looks like a lot of fun and for £3-4k im not overly concerned if it loses value to to being abused all year round. I was warned that my kwak would rust in no time due to how i use it but in 6000 miles of commuting through winter it looks exactly the same as it did before.
I think i've fallen in love with the way they sound ____________________ Past: '96 Thundercat, '02 ZX636R (A1P), '58 KTM 690 SM LC4 Current: '06 ZX636R (C6F)
