only ever do short runs in rain but just done about 50 miles A road and motorway.....found out that my waterproof jacket is about as waterproof as a sponge but them cheap aldi pants are ok...

anyway...my gp pro visor just loves to collect water beads...it dont steam up atall but even at 80mph the beads dont move....

is it work getting any proper visor stuff like rain off or rain x or is a good polish or even furniture polish / other household items any good..

cheers

Have you tried turning your head about 90 degress to the side for a second or so? Usually does the trick.

I've got the rainX wipes and they work really well. You still need to turn your head to the side a bit but it clears completely and instantly.

When I did the bikesafe course I was chatting to the copper taking me out and he said Mr Sheen works just as well. Gave that a try and he was right, although strangely anohter brand that I cant remember the name of didnt make any difference at all.

So RainX or Mr Sheen Very Happy

Usually drag the back of my thumb over the visor as the inside of my gloves are greasy. My mates dad had some gloves with a small rubber wiper blade across the back of the thumb i thought it was a well good idea but have never seen another pair like them!

Thumbs Up

These were recommended to me on BCF, and they make a hell of a difference.
Doesn't take longer than 30 seconds to buff one of the wipes onto your visor, and it's good for shedding rain all day.
Most of it runs off easily in the wind turbulence, and a quick flick of the head to the side will shift the rest.

Top stuff.

You can get Fabsil from most outdoors/camping shops, did my tent and gloves with it at donnington, good stuff. Btw the gloves are textile. Just make sure you dont get the aerosol version, its crap.

HG sells clip onto your glove wiper blades for £2.49 it was listed in their catalogue, they look like they'd
fall off to me though.

I have one of those wiper blades that fits over the index finger of the glove. The fit is that tight that I have to take the glove off to get the wiper on, then put the glove back on.

I'm sure I paid more than £2.49 for it though Embarassed

I've used it a few times on longer trips, but for my commute I've just learned to look thru or past the drops, not at them Thumbs Up
