Got in a fight yesterday, sustained some bruises to the head.
My Bike got pushed over and damaged on the left hand side, looking at new fairing, rear grab rail, bar end, gear changer, clutch lever, the person who did it should be going to court on tuesday.
It was an unprovoked attack, how much do you think i will get compensation for my bike?, on the witness statement we quoted 500 quid. The person who did it got arrester for assault and criminal damage.

Stuff you see in the news, court dates are normally very soon for stuff like assult. So a court apperance on tuesday wouldn't seem that suprising IMO.

Well if you said £500 then that is what I would be expecting, however I also doubt they'll give you that. Anyway, you only have to wait till tuesday to find out Razz

What bike was it?

I dunno. But for personal injury claims I doubt they will award it a few days after it happened. As any swelling/ brusing won't have gone down yet anyway. Don't you have to sue them for the personal injury claims?

I would hope if it was myself for it to ruled for them to pay the amount I claimed for my bike in full. However that doesn't mean you get the money. It unfortunatly might also mean a long wait till you get the money (Like £8 a month for the next few years, and then you have to chase them up when (not if) they don't pay)

Good luck on tuesday Smile

I just got convicted of Assault, and it took near on a year from the incident to the actual conviction... After experiencing the judicial system first hand, I *seriously* don't think he would go to court within a week Laughing

Bad luck mate. Sounds pretty harsh. At least something is happening about it. Whatever you get be grateful for - it's better than nothing.

Try and get as much as you can out of them. If, and it's quite possible they are unemployed and on benefit you'll be lucky to get a penny.

Best of luck for tomorrow anyways!

Bump, went to court this morning, am getting £282.57 compensation for my bike and i get £75 compensation for the helmet over the head, it starts of at £5 a week for 6 weeks then £15 a week for the remainder , so i get it all back in 26 weeks.

Not bad. However when they don't pay you, the amount of hassle you'll have to go to hardly makes it worth it for a £5 payment

Court and Laws are always a joke....

there's a term called "Settle out of the court" (dont really know the exact term in english, but in chinese direct transelate it means so). Get a group of friends, and settle the whole thing out of court. I'll prefer that way before i handed everything up for a court case.
