Check it out guys & gals, ride safe!

https://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/6944939.stm

I don't mid the rain so much, but wind & rain together is scary stuff to ride in. Decide: Do I need to ride in this weather? Or can I get a bust, train , take the car. Karma

It is raining pretty hard where I am and gave hail storms and high winds. So none of us Irish are having any luck weather wise either. Middle of August and still no summer. What a load of balls. Evil or Very Mad

As summed up by Colin Edwards in his latest TWO article:-

''Maybe God is saying ''The planet's in trouble 'cos of what you're doing to it, let's drown you all fuckers'' Someone give Noah a call, please......

Raining quite hard this morning & the wind is picking up. No work today so im staying in Thumbs Up

Edit - Nope I am in work tonight Rolling Eyes So I hope it dose ease up.
Not too bothered riding in the rain or light wind but on a stretch to work theres a wind trap and ive riden into it quiet bad and nearly lost the front end.
Is this expected to last all week then?

It ain't so much the riding weather thats annoying me, i ride in any weather anyway. Its the fact that you wait all year for summer through a crap winter and spring and what do you get! winter and spring weather again! Summer is for when you want a BBQ,get pissed in your garden until the wee hours with a nice sunset and warm air. Its when you go and sit and get burnt at bike runs and sweat in your leathers. Its when the beach has people on it that are sober and not chav or goth on the weekends and walk the dog with some more sun burn.

Now we have to wait another year to see if we get worse results and I get very depressed in the winter and don't help summer is now the same. Summer kept me going. Now the sky is gray and its raining again and i am chilly.

Tsk this just needs a readjustment of your riding technique,

and for ride outs use my technique ie when there is a break in the clouds ride over to another rider's house say you coming out ride quickly before the rain closes in get back in dry .

Put it this way. At least you aren't drowning in China who are experiencing the worst forecast for many years. When you put things into perspective, good cold Old Blighty isn't so bad, after all.

For sure, it has been a shit summer so far and all I hear is the Met office's bubble-popping pessimism that 'summer's over'. In fact, I've been contemplating on scrapping my all-round tyres in favour of full wets.....

Until I get a heavier, more stable bike, i'm reluctant to go out in both rain and wind.
I can handle one or the other, but it's dangerous enough in dry, fine weather with 4 near head-on collisions in one day! (One from a traffic cop who turned on his "blues and twos" all of a sudden and pulled out into oncoming traffic, i.e. me, and didn't even see me! Forced me just about off the road! TWAT! Evil or Very Mad )

Too many idiot car drivers out there, regardless to how "defensive" your driving is.

You gotta ask yourself "Do I need to ride? Or do I just want to ride in this weather"

Tonight was pretty bad here in Ports - Some parts flooded near work - gale force winds and a power cut through-out the whole pub for 2 hours. And it will be the same tommorow Evil or Very Mad

Rain is ok for traveling in for me but high winds no way! my bike is light and i am small and it far to dangerous as once i was coming home in bad weather and along the coast i was near thrown into on coming traffic. That was a warning and not doing that again. On the bike in ice one day was fun but also not doing that again. Could cause a nasty accident.

Gave sun today and its been raining all day again. Even the BBC cant get the weather right.

Old Thread Alert!
