 |

Almost on the road, but I'm now stuck mulling over insurance quotes.
Now pretty much everyone I know uses Carol Nash and the only negative thing I've heard from a friend who constantly trades bikes and promptly runs into issues with rather excessive administration charges.
Unfortunately the quote I got from them wasn't all that great, with a fair bit of work on the phone I eventually got a reasonable offer, £335 with TPFT cover + the usual extras and TPO cover on other bikes which is a nice bonus as well as a £250 Excess.
Bennetts on the other hand have given me the cheapest quite by a fair margin at £245 for just TPFT + legal and pretty much nothing else but a brutal £500 Excess.
I honestly can't see myself touring europe within the year but the breakdown cover is nice. Question is, is the better service and lower excess honestly worth the £90 jump in price?
The bike is a ZZR600 for reference, just picked it up last weekend
Opinions would be appreciated |

I'm in the process of renewing my insurance too for the ZZR600. Bennetts sent my renewal through at £331.35
Carole Nash quoted a similar price to you. Bennetts I got down to £175.50 eventually and I have just got a cheaper one through Devitt Insurance.
I got quoted £150.04 TPF&T which includes leather and helmet cover, legal assistance, 90 days European cover, and Ridng any other bike TPO.
I know who I'm going with this year (unless I find cheaper still) and it's NOT Bennetts ____________________ Speed doesn't kill. The sudden stopping does.

I wouldn't worry about their reputation too much, once you have paid your premium what are the chances of you needing to contact them again? Pretty low I'd say. I'm sure they can both be as bad as each other given their chances, just save yourself £90 and stop worrying.
Have you tried some of the insurance sites like www.gocompare.com and www.confused.com ?
They can often bring up some decent results? But here's a tip for you if you do try them, don't include your real phone number unless you want them ringing you up touting for your business. ____________________ Yamaha YZF-R6 |

i wouldnt reccomend bennetts...... they cancelled my policy because they say they didnt recieve my proof of no claims, when i know for a fact it was posted as soon as they asked for it. not only that, rather than asking me again, they just cancelled it, meaning i rode around with no insurance for 2 weeks
give hastings direct a go, they just quoted me very happy |

Oop, missed this one, confused.com gave me a few more places to try, but for the most part the quotes from there were not particularly great, I assume because of this being my first bike. |

Can anyone tell me why there are companies out there called Brokers?
Aren't they meant to be able to quote you happy?
How do they stay afloat?

Admin charges and a bit more.....
A good broker will find you the best deal from all the ins co that cover your bike, not just the ones that will kick back the best %
Do you not think that the likes of moneysuperket do not get any kick backs, never mind the fact they do not cover all the players.. ____________________ Just because my bike was A DIVVY, does not mean i am...... |
