Yes, you might if you publish a magazine... that is circulated around the country, thats almost as big as MCN or biketrader.... there's a lot of ifs otherwise.

The point about the Biketrader or MCN sites is that they complement the existing magazine rather than completely replace it.

Like I said before, you're welcome to your opinion but I for one don't think it'll work. Confused

I do actually quite like browsing through a mag rather than searching on a web site.
I have been known to occasioanlly by bike trader randomly... with no serious intention to buy anything, but just to dream.. kinda like a lottery ticket: you know it's not going to happen, but the good bit is thinking about it Smile.

As mark said... not specifcally against you, just don't think it's going to work.
However I do disagree with your method of advertising, which is offence in my opnion. Especially as you obviously not only haven't bothered to get noticed by search engine but are willing to lie about it.

I've just noticed that you paid for a sponsered link on google, just out of interest how much did it cost you?

I personally wouldn't attempt to start a business like this, but if I did I would build/maintain the site myself to keep overheads down and would attempt to establish the site before laying out money for advertising <shrug> but if it works out then all credit to you.

However posting in the general chat section of a forum is just a crappy thing to do when there is obviously an exchange and mart section. Pretending the that you are not plugging your own site is also likely to make people think you are a twat - I personally will now remember not to advertise on your site and council others not to either.

Oh, I didn't notice that either, before making my "this is the first link" post.

Guess my eyes are trained to avoid all the "sponsored link" bits!

Edit:
There is a $5 activation fee for creating a sponsored link. You then pay a certain amount every time someone clicks the link. You set the amount you pay, from 5 cents to $50. Obviously the more you are prepared to pay per click, the more exposure Google will give the link.
