im a driving instructor and i cannot tell you how much importance i make of observations on todays roads-people make better drivers if they were bikers first--i think if people could be given the chance to lower their insurance premiums on a scooter or bike and port it over to car then theyd be more aware of other vehicles around them as theyve had first hand experience of being vulnerable in traffic while making a good saving in premiums and hgelping the environment by not running a large engine to transport only one person

hi

Thanks every one

im not a mechanic but id say its a write off!

The headlights and windscreen are completely cracked... The left hand front fairing is gone and the guts of the bike have been moved to the back of the bike instead of under the tank.

Its gone to my local dealer to see what they reckon and im hoping it is a write off.

What really pisses me off is the car driver (a woman Rolling Eyes ) said to the police she thought she hit a rock!! and then caried on driving, she only realised something was wrong when passers by rushed to the middle of the road to see if i was ok. Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

Luckerly i only had a broken finger and a few scratches (not bad for a 60mph impact) thankgod i had all my gear on which ill be claiming of her insurance. The car i hit was a brand new honda civic type R and the rear of the car is completely fu**ked.

Im still debating weather to prosecute or not. What do you think i should do??
Bear in mind she has admited fault!

oh, and it hasn't put me off bike in the slightest! still hoping to get a 400 soon Very Happy

Thanks

Dsn

Your insurance company should take over the whole sorting the bike out bit.

Yes prosecute her. She could have killed you!

Glad you're ok Smile

i got knocked off an old ped a couple of years back by a bloody woman doing the school run in a land rover discovery. She hit me at a junction then drove off leaving me vith two broken ribs and a broken finger (and a totaly knacked speedflight) but the worst part of it is i was picked up by a bloody lollypop lady, but on the plus side she got the reg of the land rover. Two years later the silly cow that left me for dead pleaded guilty to driving without due care and attention and leaving the scene of an accident. My claim has just been paid (5k)and it brought my car and restored my confidence in the karma theory so i brought an old nsr.

Moral of the story-what goes around comes around(and i hope the cow is dying of herpes as well as losing her licence)
