Myself and a friend were travelling from Aberlour to Grantown on Spey that day and came upon the accident just minutes after it happened. We were amongst the first on the scene.
It was a horrible sight and so easy to see exactly what had happened. There is a huge straight road as you approach Grantown with a gentle blind bend at the end of it. Just after the bend is a turning to Tomintoul. The 4x4 had pulled out of this junction without seeing the biker leaving the biker the choice of hitting the side of the 4x4 or hitting oncoming traffic.
It's a really bad blind junction that locals know to be wary of. We came around the corner at about 120mph hard on the brakes as we always expect to see a car pulling out of this junction. This time however we were met by a worse sight.
The paramedics were straight on the scene but the casualty wasn't moving. It looked like he'd hit the 4x4 and gone over the roof but he may have slide under it, hard to say.
I'm pretty sure the bike was an XJR1300. It was a black muscle style bike anyway.

It was the first of two fatal crashes we saw that day.

RIP.
