I have recently swapped my rm 250 for a Honda Xr 250 2003 model. The bike is in excellent condition apart from one problem... it idles too high to get started.
Basically i have to pull the choke on full, turn the idle swticth all the way up and kick the hell out of it.
Once the bike is then warm and ticking over quite high, you have to turn the idle switch down gradually until it hits the right setting to get it to tick over smoothly.
Could any1 tell me what the problem could possibly be please? |

their are a few things i can think of.
1 spark plug is fouled
2 some one has played with the carbs, and changed the idle/air mixture screw,
3 the air box isnt on properly
what i would do is get a new spark plug and air filter,
pull the carb and air box off, clean out the carb, reset the mixture screw to 1 3/4 screws out,
replace the spark plug and filter and try again.
also check and see if some one has pulled off the snorkle from the air box, they may have done that and rejetted the bike badly, if they have then try and get it back to standard jets ect.
good luck ____________________ the humans are dead
