By the sounds of it the front just need bedding in, only riding her will sort that out. Put in add in the for sale section with a little :wanted: in the title for a stater motor and see if anyone PM's you. Or check ebay but they're about £80 buy it now on there.

had her running last night. Like all 2t at around 4-6k rpm it splutters, I was then expecting the powerband to kick in after 7k but nothing. Acceleration was just flat.

The powervalve is fitted and I can hear it when i turn the bike on.

You mean flat spot at 4-6K? Mine's at 5-7K, just as the power band starts. Fookin thing.

nah. tried it today, was moving along fine, then I pushed it to 6k rpm and there were two loud bangs.

The engine was still running so i tired again but this time the engine just cut out.

I managed to start it once more but again the engine just cutt out at mid rpms.

Any ideas on what this might be?

I've sorted all the electrics, bulbs, etc.. now so they are all fine.

Gave the whole bike a good clean and degreasing.

Puchased a starter motor, which i should get on Wednesday, so hopefully that will all work fine.

I still need a left hand wing mirror though and don't really wanna pay £30

I started the bike up again today and she ticks over nicely.

I was in 1st just going slowly along then popped her into 2nd, gave it a bit a throttle and the engine died. Any ideas on this?

No, out of ideas now, just give it a good ragg around in first and when(if) you hit 8K, pop into second. Good luck.

Badly adjusted float valve? my NSR use to die if you opened it up too quick, turned out the float was sitting slightly too low so it wasn't sucking enough petrol through. Bent the tab back a bit and never had the problem since.

Either that or going along slowly oiled the plug up, they do go better when you're revving them harder....

the plugs looks pretty clean after idling for a few mins, no build up or colour change to note really.

Guess, i'm taking the carb apart tonight then

put some fresh petrol in her and went for a spin around the block or so.

Came back and it appears to be leaking coolant. from somwhere directly above the cyclinder.

I'm couldn't find any problems with the pipes, so i'm guessing the previous owner (who said he put new coolant in) just over filled it.

I also need a gasket for the water pump.

replaced the speedo cable with on from an NS (cables appear the same) but the speedo still doesn't work Sad

got some more picts to go up when I find my memory card adapter

do you reckon its worth fixing or just selling off and cuting my loses?

I'd need a new front tyre and valve
Rear tyre valve
new oil seals
rear suspension bush
rear shock

I just need something to get around on really while i wait to take my test.
